X4: Realist Takes A Look at the option

Haven't looked and seen if anyone posted this idea...

Way to get Cyclops back...Sinister clones him and Jean...they awake and escape. Prof. X gets a new body by clone (hey if they want to address the real world then they should add the clone thing, it might work). They get back to the X-Men, have to work through issues while sinister is secretly working with Apocolypse on destroying the world. The four horseman and such. Those storylines are so damn cool. Jean is undercontrol of her powers, Cyclops ***** slaps storm and takes the reigns of the team again. New members and old, finally the real team unites.

In order to have an X4, you HAVE to bring back the main characters. Having an X-MEN move without, wolverine, prof x, jean grey, or scott summers is like having a movie titled BATMAN, but with a story about azrael, or a movie called SPIDERMAN, but about a guy named ben reilly. This has to be the last movie in the saga, there were too many resolutions to the main characters. If they did an X4, it would be just for the money. Which i something i wouldn't put past movie execs, so IF they were to put out an X4 here's a possible beginning plotline.
The world has become a peaceful place, where mutants and humans coexist. Mutants are everywhere in society, there's even a section of new york called whatelse 'mutanttown'. At the x-mansion, all is well logan (he's always called that now bc he's now at peace with his feral side) and storm are the schoolheadmasters and are also lovers. There's a scene where they visit the prof x who looks like he's in a coma but can communicate telepathically. They briefly mention that they have searched for scott body but it was never found.The school has employed new teachers (northstar, forge, emma, etc.) and have "new mutants like illayana rasputin, wolfsbane (who looks up to logan.) cannonball, the stepford cuckoos etc. Hank McCoy is a celebrated politician and has just become Vice Pres alongside a human Pres. He and logan have become great friends, as he was instrumental in taming his animal instincts. There is discussion that this is just a stepping stone and that hank's goal is to run for pres office, making history. Tragedy occurs as the human pres is attacked while delivering a public speech. replay of the incident finds that it was someone who looked like scott summers who was the assasin, this sends the gov after the x-men (imagine a scene where they try to bring in wolive for questioning) and the country is once again divided. We find out that there is new brotherhood led by a scientist named sinister and he has recruited some of the old (pyro,juggs, SABRETOOTH!) a right hand man named remy and he has help from a human mystquie who is promised a cure for her humanity. we then find out the scott look alike is actualy his brother alex(havok) as mutants are prosecuted, lines are drawn and the war begins again.
With sinister, you can do so much with the mad scientist angle. I don't know just rambling.

Love your idea, send it to someone with great script writing skills and get it out there. But take the sinister idea and clone scott damn't!! make him cyclops again...it could work...i knowi am grabbing for straws here but it would work. X-Men have to get scott back!

I am against cloning becuase Clones don't have the memories, experience, and personalities of the originals. They are just genetic copies...

I think if they find clever writers they could find a way to bring Cyclops back, but honestly, I think this is the end of the franchise.

Xavier in a new body is stupid. I heard it was Xavier's twin brother. If you look, you can see that it does seem to be Patrick Stewart with a beard in the bed.

I think Jean should stay dead this time.

Rogue could potentially get her powers back, but if she does, than so does Magneto, and I think we need a new villain with a new plot.

I don't know about you guys, but for some reason I feel like this is what Ratner set up:

Wolverine and Storm as the new leaders. Even Wolverine is the solo guy he has been forced to be a leader.

Remember X1 and X2 was the Professor, Storm, Cyclops, Jean, and Wolverine. I can see X4 as Storm, Wolverine, Beast, Iceman, and the so-called "Tin Man" lol.

I like it...except why not bring Magneto in as the leader of the X-Men. After all, he and Xavier have been longtime friends and , in spite of their philosophical differences, have a deep respect for one another. This move could bring in another dynamic within the xmen - struggling to take orders from a once sworn enemy, and learning to embrace some of his ideals...namely, that they must always be prepared for the scorn and animosity from non-mutants, that they should never expect to be fully accepted by them, and find the willingness to fight. This could allow for a little bit of a darker plot development...especially with the introduction of either Sinister or Apocolypse (or both?)

=beat nimrod=army finds parts of nimrod after investigating what the hell just happened= army backward engineers the future technology=sentinals in the present day.

Sounds good... pretty much what i was thinking. Problem with that is introducing nimrod/cable/bishop, some poeple, i.e. not fans wouldnt have a clue would they? I dont know. Would be a good storyline though. Save Jean in the process, paves the way for apocalypse in the next one. (if they go that far)

What if we have Bishop in the future where there are Sentinels everywhere hunting down the remaining mutants who are running free,and we see mutant camps,and Bishop goes back into the past to stop it.

What if Bishop is trying to assassinate a presidental candidate,and the X-Men meet up with him and Bishop tells them that presidental candidate is Apocalypse who will release armies of Sentinels killing mutants and putting others in camps.

What if the X-Men are already dealing with a villain before running into Bishop.What if Sinister wants to know where Jean's body is so he can make a clone of her.

So Sinister makes Rogue have her powers again that no cure will ever take them away again,only Sinister can take them away for her.But only if she tells him where Jean's body is.

Rogue thinks there is no problem telling Sinister where Jean's body is.Sinister tells Rogue he will take her powers away from her when he finds Jean's body.

Then the other X-Men find out what Rogue has done and if they don't stop Sinister they could have a resurrected Phoenix.Sinister could already have a small team of mutants helping him.

He could have the Blob,he could have the Scarlet Witch,(she has joined him because Sinister has promised her that he will give her father back his powers that was taken from him,because Magneto can't stand being human anymore has tried to kill himself and has been put in a hospital).We could even see Archangel on Sinister's side.Maybe Angel's dad worked with Sinister before and betrayed him,so Sinister killed him and made his son into one of his soldiers of his crusade.

And on the X-Men side would be Gambit,Iceman,Colossus,Kitty,and Rogue (who now uses her powers to fight in battle)

And bringing back the main characters (whichever many die) is just over the top. You dabbled a little in it in x3 and from what i hear theres a logic to it. It will get cheesy to the audience if abused. That stuff is a grey line you must just know to not cross.

IMO Spinoffs are the way to go. Well made spinoffs. Lets get original. Less characters means more time to develop new ones. Its an opportunity, but im doubting it will be taken advantage of fully.

they would never attempt apocalypse. His motives while in the comics make sense, would turn the X-men movies into circus.

Cyclops is my favorite X character (no clue why) but hes dead...I can accept that and I hope he never returns.

I've also stated in other threads that Jean needs to stay gone...

I say they start the next movie with Storm bbeing killed off screen...Halle has stated several times that she is NOT coming back for another movie...it was a GIANT mistake of the producers to sacrifice so much to make her happy in part 3 since she will screw the franchise in part 4.

So...Storm is dead and Magneto, Beast and Nightcrawler take over the school, or the school is closed and Emma Frost has a Hellfire Club replace it and the remnants of the X Men have to rise up to stop her. Either way Rogues powers are coming back and she doesnt want them but in the end she has to use them to stop an invulnerable super strong flying mutant...

Or...Storm is dead and the cause of it is unknown (revealed later)...the school is dealing with the loss when the initial strike comes...Rogue and Magneto are slowly regaining their powers and try to help but its too late...Apocalypse strikes and takes over the world...and the XMen counter attack would be part 5...

Eh...maybe not.

Spinoffs would be perfect grounds to introduce Gambit. I think hes long overdue. The Wolverine spinoff would be wisest imo... that is more bankable.

I agree with everyone saying there is enough setup for an X4. I just hope Gambit will be in it, IF there is a fourth movie. Though I have a feeling they would turn it into a Wolverine/Gambit duo movie.

Based on how the fanboys are reacting, it'd be better for the producers not to push for x4. X3 made the people (non-comic fans) love Wolverine. So if the fanboys are angry at xmen3, the non-comic fans love Wolverine more. So what is left of the xmen franchise?The non-comic fans. Ergo, producers should please the non-comic and the comic fans of Wolverine by creating the movie --Wolverine.

Ok well its my stance that more x films after x3 will sink. Its old formula now imo and the idea of it is already used for 3 feature films. Especially with a crew that is risky such as this. Theyll trip up completely next time im sure. Im nervous even about the spinoffs.

Please, no more. Havent they beat this poor ugly horse enough? Ill watch the Ultimate avengers movie, for some reason it sticks with me. Cant wait for #2. No more live action Xmen. I would rather see a Final Fantasy 7 type CGI hybrid Xmen movie then another live one.

With Xavier, Scott and Jean on the astral plain, we've set up for the Shadow King. Haha. Or not.

I feel like if you expect an exact sequel tying in with every plot thread in this movie, yo'll find it impossible. No, they would just pick up on a few of those ideas and run with it. If you watch X-2, you might have thought they'd pick up Nightcrawler. But they don't have to carry out everything from the previous movie. THe first movie left loose threads that weren't picked up at all or didn't come into play until the third movie. The next one would just have to continue enough of the story to establish what happens next and move on. Maybe we won't get everyone back, but mutant rights didn't get resolved and that is the main stage.

• Cyclops didn't die. He's back and he's the leader, but the news of Jean's and Xavier's death makes things hard( I can get more elaborate if you want).
• Unfortunately the school is in shambles. Without Xavier's guidance and superpowerful telepathy keeping the school functioning and anonymous is getting harder and harder.
• Logan of course refuses to listen to scott.
• Rogue is critically ill as her body has violently rejected the cure a year after she took it.
• Magneto on the other hand, is back with a vengeance and making it harder to keep the peace. And he has a new soldier(Gambit)
• Given the failure of the cure, the phoenix incident and the reemergance of Magneto, a new government with a much harsher stance on mutants is elected.
• The new secretary of mutant affairs who has previous affiliations with Trask industries green lights the sentinel program. Also a new anti-mutant terrorism bill allows the government to detain suspected mutant terrorists without trial. the sentinels are used in these instances.
• The new government who also has the info on the Xavier school (from X2) feels that keeping secrets for an institution that was once affiliated with Magneto could be dangerous politically. It pressures the school to go public or it will get the sentinel treatment.
• Scott can't go public, the school will be shut down for sure.
• Left with no other option Scott asks Logan to hunt down Magneto( to be used as a bargaining tool) while the others wait to hold off the sentinels.

That's all I have right now.

OK i can understand your point of view. but if there is some kinda spinoff will people be able to compare his motives as the movie character w/ the comic known Gambit. And would it connect with the recent films. Look if the movie (spinoff) can relate to all these things I would totally agree with you.
