From a live crowd perspective, I would not be against Hogan/Cena. At all. But I really didn't pay $340 for a WrestleMania 30 ticket just to see Hogan/Cena if it's not for the title.

I was just watching some WWE stuff from a few years ago and realised how much I like Finlay. He was a really good midcarder who gave guys good matches. Lashley had his best matches with Finlay.

Really dug the matches he had with Sami Callihan in EVOLVE.

I love JR's blogs since his "retirement". He cuts loose and tells the truth with no bias.

His comments on the kidnapping were funny and true. His story about Ernie Ladd visiting the WWE taping is sad and a little revelational. It could explain why some guys don't how to work: they don't listen to the experienced hands when advice is being given.

I like JR's unfiltered blog, to me this was the most important point he made;

Loved Reigns spear of Punk. Amazing impact and a "moment." Hopefully the other talents will stop using the spear going forward.

Hehe, that's probably one of the reasons there was heat on Ryback for using it.

- The premiere of WWE Studios' Christmas Bounty on ABC Family with The Miz in a starring role drew 828,000 viewers on Tuesday night. The movie drew a 0.3 cable rating in the Adult 18-49 demographic.

- We noted before that David Benoit, son of Chris Benoit, is interested in becoming a pro wrestler and has trained with Harry Smith, among others recently. Benoit's ultimate goal is to get into WWE. Benoit, through an intermediary, and Cody Hall, Scott Hall's son, have had people check to see if they could join the New Japan Pro Wrestling dojo.

- Bill Goldberg was at the C4 Comic Con in Winnipeg a few weeks back and was asked about appearing at WWE's WrestleMania XXX. He said Triple H has called him and they have talked but there's no deal in place.

Goldberg said he is open to coming back and would like his son to see him wrestle once but he would only do it for the right price. He said he would never call WWE and ask to come back, and that the ball is in their court and they know what they have to do to get him to return. A WWE source says Goldberg's financial demands were very significant.

Goldberg added that WWE did try to push him on the “think of the pop you’ll get” idea but he said from his point of view, they are barking up the wrong tree when it comes to negotiating tactics.

David Benoit will have a very long and tough journey before maybe ever getting to at least NXT

Even if David Benoit would become the top wrestling star in the world, outside of WWE.......

They still wouldn't bring him in.

And even if they did, his family history wouldn't get acknowledged, and his name would be changed without question.

So am I the only one still holding out hope for AJ vs Mickie at WM, or have we all just accepted that it'll probably be someone like Brie Bella winning the title at WM?

Sadly, you are all probably right about David Benoit's future, but man, in a more (in)sane world I would love to be the writer to handle his WWE storyline.

Just watched Sami Zayn vs Adrian Neville on NXT last night. It did not disappoint! I honestly cant understand why one if not both these guys havent made the main roster yet.

Honestly, I think they're exactly where they need to be. Until WWE gets their stuff together with their main shows.

I am too, but they'll probably do another tag match featuring Maria Menounos.

I'll give him props....Just don't want to see a title belt on his waist ever again lol.
:D

Interesting stuff, so they changed the process roughly just after Mania? How long has it been since they used the quality one given to Triple H in 2002?
The original WWE etched version debuted in early 2003 just before WM19, and lasted, I believe, until around mid-2005. Since then there have been numerous other belts, that have been casts rather than etched versions, as the 3D etching process this belt used takes far longer than the normal 2D etching that most belts have and use.

However, rather than casting the original each time for each new belt, they decided to instead cast the previous belt each time. So with each subsequent belt debuting, each of them was cast of the previous belt that came before it, meaning we have ended up with a cast, of a cast, of a cast, of a cast, etc with each subsequent new belt. And with that, the detail of the etching has been severely degraded and deteriorated, resulting in the currentbelt having a almost melted look.

The belt that ran through the end of WCW, the Invasion angle, and that was given to Haitch in September 2002 until the WWE version debuted in early 2003 was a cast of the original Big Gold that Flair introduced in 85, that was all gold plated, rather than dual-plated like the original.

Jim Ross posted a new blog on his official website talking a variety of things, including his thoughts on Raw from Monday. One of the interesting tidbits was Ross's opinion of The Shield, their inevitable break-up, and their potential as singles stars going forward.

Here's what J.R. had to say about The Shield:
Seriously, those three could be the main players in the ME picture in the future. You'd have Reigns as the big and powerful type the company love, Ambrose as the top heel (which I think he's destined to be), and Rollins as the Punk/Bryan-type smark/indy darling. It's as if you've got all the different sides and aspects all mixed in there.

If Cody eventually wins the WWE Championship and delivers on bringing the WE back, even for a short stint, he'd have already guaranteed his induction into the HoF.. :D :oldrazz:

That Sami Zayn vs Adrian Neville on NXT was great.

Pac The Man That Gravity Forgot!

Zayn/El Generico looks like a thin Seth Rogen

What TNA's top priority needs to be going into the new year and forever:

- Rebuilding The Tag Team:

Problem: I've never seen a tag division so laughable since WWE in 2010. SuperMex, Gunner and Storm, Young/Parks, Bad Influence, and BroMans. Are you frickin kidding me!? What happen to the good old days with teams like Beer Money, Motor Machine Guns, Generation Me etc?

This use to be one of TNA's strong suits even when TNA was down in the crapper in 2010 and 2011.

Solution: Start looking for more indie talents and trying to get teams like The Young Bucks and Generation Me back to revive the credibility of the teams. Even if some of them don't have the best promo skills, it's tag team wrestling and not everyone is meant to be future main eventers.

- Rebuild the X-Division's credibility:

Problem: The X-Division was once the MUST-WATCH division in TNA is now a frickin joke. No feuds to hype the division and A talent pool for the division that is limited at best because several fixtures in the X-Division were released because they supposedly didn't "move the needle" or whatever. Which is laughable IMO.

Solution: Start developing actual FEUDS centered around the title, and start giving their younger talent more TV time. Maybe even have Aries, Samoa Joe, Styles etc slither in and out of those title pictures when they aren't pursuing the World title. So start building up Sabin, Manik, Zema Ion, Kenny King, Ethan, and Sam Shaw for good measure. Another word of advice would be to try their best to bring back Homicide, Alex Shelley, Amazing Red, Petey Williams, Jay Lethal and bring in more international talent like Gedo, Tanahashi, Okada, Ricochet etc to add more diversity to the division.

- No More Publicity Stunts and "game changing reveals"

Problem: TNA makes "groundbreaking" announcements every three weeks and it's usually something moronic and face-palm Inducing. Pacman Jones returning? Big F-cking Whoop!! Rampage Jackson, Tito Ortiz, and King Mo coming to do nothing for a month? Are you f-cking kidding me!? What's next, A TV spot during Spongebob Squarepants? Seriously at this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if that was considered a "game changer" to Dixie Carter. The more they do this, the more their audience will be de-sensitized to anything and by the time a real game changing announcement comes around, their audience will be too busy not caring.....like the rest of the world.

Solution: Stop worrying about publicity stunts and ways to get temporary rating spikes or short term Twitter activity and worry about consistent booking and a quality product and save the "huge" announcements for when something that really is huge ACTUALLY happens

TNA has been taking some strides to improve but they are nowhere near where they need to be with their product. If they followed these guidelines then TNA would easily be able to recover some of the good will that was built with the fans for a good portion of 2012 and most of all, it would make them seem less like a 3rd rate bush league.

Feel free to give your 2cents on this guys.

Lost my interest at the mention of Generation Me as "the good old days."

You might not like them but during the time they were there(not necessarily because of them)the tag division was in better shape than it is now.

The Young Bucks are definitely my favorite tag team right now. :D

TNA getting rid of them was such a huge mistake.

All of those answers were pretty good for what to bring back.

I'd go crazy if they ever brought back the Winged Eagle title, but another part of me wants to keep the current title because I feel like if they keep the current title for a long time, then the prestige is gonna build for it and the current iteration gets more popular.
