Apocalypse Young Cyclops/Jean/Storm? Casting Ideas - Part 2

My hope is Apocalypse will conclude this trilogy and set up another focused on Scott, Jean and Storm in 2000's. Same time the first trilogy takes place. This means another recast. Also, I hope the Gambit movie will be set in 2000s as well.

No, only 80's, 90's and 2020's + Cable's time.
We already saw 2000's.

I know it can be all talk but based on interviews both McAvoy and Fassbender have talked about how much they love these characters and want to continue playing them. Even after Apocalypse both have said in several interviews they would do more movies. So I think they would be game for more. And you only need them two. Mystique isn't needed. And neither is Beast. They could possibly keep Lawrence and offer her a solo movie like they talked about.

It was mentioned in article when first contenders for jean and cyclops were announced that these roles are expected to recur in future films.

There is 40 year span between apocalypse and new future of DOFP so plenty of time they can explore.

The original trilogy & the wolverine were basicly done away with with time travel of DOFP so with except of ending of DOFP with wolverine, rogue, iceman,
Kitty, colossus,Beast, storm, jean, cyclops, and xavier at mansion in 2023 they don't have much to lineup to anymore. The fates of magneto, mystique, and
Quicksilver is unknown.they can even have one of them die in future film if they wanted to.

If gambit shows up in apocalypse gambit will be set in 1980's.

Why would you waste all of the years between 1983 and the 2000's??????

Following this logic, why would they waste all of the years between 1963 and 1973? And 73 to 83? A lot happens in ten years.

I don't know if I made myself clear, but I'm not talking about the future after DoFP. I'm talking about 2000, where the first trilogy takes place. There you have Jean, Scott and Ororo in their 30's, which is not a bad thing at all, and you also can reintroduce iconic characters like Rogue, Kitty, Bob and Colossus. Now that Fox is expanding the Mutant Universe, there must be space and time to develop these characters properly.

I would love to see a Mystique solo movie if Rogue and Nightcrawler would be introduced in it.

Marvel and Warner have their female solo movie announced. I think it's a matter of time until Fox announces one as well. I rather a Storm movie, but a Mystique movie is very likely.

They have a chance to delve deeper into the core 3 X-Men in the rest of the 1980s and in the 1990s. Why pass that up to go back to where the franchise started? Rogue had her origin story in X-Men and we got to see where Iceman came from in X2. More could have been done with Kitty and especially Colossus, it sucks, but that's just the way it is. At least they all have a few movies under their belts. If the team needs more members, there are other X-Men who have only made one appearance (Nightcrawler, Angel) or haven't made an appearance at all (Polaris, Sunfire) who could still be featured.

I want to see a few more movies after Apocalypse with this Scott, Jean, Ororo. And I want to see young Nightcrawler.

Exactly this. They have the opportunity to do Cyclops justice. The opportunity to do the Scott and Jean relationship justice. They have the opportunity for a fresh take and hopefully more integral role for Storm. Not to mention potentially more McAvoy/Fassbender/Lawrence/Hoult. Skipping over Azzazel/Angel/Frost/Riptide/Havok/Banshee is one thing. Skip over the main core X-Men? 17 years of story. Real X-Men team story? WHY would they do that? Its nonsensical.

No offense to Dylan, but I really don't want someone like him for Cyke. The movie needs someone who will grow into the part of a man leading a team and Dylan is going to look like a boy for at least ten more years haha.

Ben Hardy comments on his possible involvement in X-Men: Apocalypse

Speaking to reporters including Digital Spy backstage at the NTAs last night, Hardy was asked to confirm whether he will indeed be part of the next X-Men project.

He laughed: "Er, sorry? Oh well, that's the rumor. Nothing guaranteed though."

His on-screen father Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale) joked: "If he is, I want tickets for the premiere!"

Meh. I want Blackley.

Ugh, give us SOMETHING.

Yeah even I'm starting to get antsy to see who young Cyke and Jean will be.

For all the superhero films due out, this has been the biggest lull I can remember in terms of news. I guess that's because I don't follow the MCU or DCCU circuit as much as I used to. Obviously we've gotten trailers for AoU but I'm avoiding spoilers there. Same with the DCCU.

Can I be superficial for just half a second and say this?

But jokes aside, I only want them to do Cyclops justice. I want finally see Scott as the strategic leader of X-Men and the solid relationship between him and Jean (although I'm not sure about the leadership since Beast is the number one X-Men now, so...).

And please Fox, do justice to Storm as well. She is one of the most important female comic book character and she has so much stories... and so much potential.

Update: and yes, there is no much news about X-Men movies. At least not as much as Civil War.

Seems like the Spidey/Sony thing has been the only reason to view the boards in the last few months. SHH should be thanking the hackers.

And neither is Beast.

I prefer Beast, than Magneto. Really have enough of Erik, there are so many villains we haven't seen yet.
I would want more Magnus, only if there would be story with Asteroid M, Acolytes, Exodus and Selene. Cortez would work for Selene and betray Magneto.

Kaaaaasjan!!! :argh:

Got excited when I saw this thread updated again. Almost broke a finger clicking on the thread. :o

Marsden looked like a boy when played 37yo Cyclops.
O'Brien is 1.8m, tall enough, taller than contenders we heard about. And doesn't have to look older when he plays 20 yo Cyclops.
Those shorty guys under 1.8m will always look like kid staying near Hoult, Tatum, Jackman.

BIG NO to that.
Prefer to see what happened in 80's and 90's. And keep movies with actors we have in 2020's. Recast and show actors in age we already saw would be dumb.

I'm parched.

I can't even blame you. It feels like Isaac was announced forever ago. They need to just come out with it.

@BryanSinger 7s7 seconds ago Meet our new and brilliant young mutants: @Alexshipppp as #Storm @SophieT as #JeanGrey and @TyeSheridan as #Cyclops. #XmenApocalypse

UGH.

Nice. I wanted Hailee Steinfeld but Sophie Turner was a close 2nd and Tye Sheridan was my first choice.
