Apocalypse Young Cyclops/Jean/Storm? Casting Ideas - Part 2

Meh. Im so not here for the Storm casting. This is a clear sign that Singer doesnt give a f*** about Storm. I have to hope that another director decides to take her on after this X-men franchise is finished.
Tye Sheridan is a pretty good actor though. I dont know how he's going to be in a action movie though since he's mostly done indies.
Sophie Turner wasnt a surprise.

People, go watch Mud. Sheridan will be fine as Cykes.

Cast. "Casted" is not a word.

Woo, Sophie! As soon as I figured out that they would be featuring teen X-Men in this, I wanted her to play Jean, and it actually happened!

What's people's issue with Sheridan? He's easily the most talented actor of the bunch under consideration.

Turner and Sheridan are excellent picks IMO.

These three each have a HUGE hurdle to jump for me.
- Sophie successfully made me hate Sansa Stark. Now she has to go from my least favorite GoT character (yes even worse than Joffree) to my favorite core X-Man. I just hope she is as good an actress as everyone here seems to think.

- Sheridan is just a recast Marsden. Good actor who appears completely wrong for the role. Doesnt seem at all commanding, stoic or strong in any way. Good thing the kid will be acting, because he would probably make an awful leader of the X-Men in real life.

- I have no idea who Shipp is. Judging by her filmography, I likely wouldn't be impressed even if I did. Being that Storm already bugs me, she's gonna have a tough time convincing me otherwise.

That's as positive as I can get for now. These three kids have to defeat Apocalypse.

Turner might my first fancast to actually get cast. If Sheridan was good enough for Mallck and now Singer then he's good enough for me.

Sansa is an awful character on "Game of Thrones". It's difficult to me see Sophie Turner as Jean Grey. She's a beutiful girl, but I don't know if she can really act.

Omg, I just called my cousin (who is also a big fan if xmen) turns out he went to high school with Alexandra! He said he is happy for her, but can't picture her as storm because she was the goofy kid. Looks like we have another Jennifer Lawrence :D either way I think she will be good, her life is about to change

:lmao: Oh, Variety, really poor choice of words there with Singer's recent history. :lmao:

LMAO.

How?

Sansa is an awful character in "Game of Thrones". It's difficult to me see Sophie Turner as Jean Grey. She's a beutiful girl, but I don't know if she can really act.
The problems with Sansa's character on the show all relate to the writing, which has gutted or cut most of her best scenes from the books. Sophie's acting is frequently the only thing keeping the character afloat at all (particularly in the miserable season 3, where the writers did their damndest to write her as a total joke).

Happy with Turner as Jean.

Not familiar with Shipp, but looks good.

Tye is talented, but not my idea of a young Cyke.

Sansa is annoying on GOT but it ain't due to Turner's acting. She's great with the material they give her and her story-arc is just getting started if it's going to mirror her character in the books.

The former (I can guess the latter).

She fits the role well. Her pointed face, bored eyes and whiny voice make it clear to me why they chose her for said character.

What is far less clear is why they chose her for Jean, who to me, embodies none of the same traits as Sansa.

I hope you're right. Maybe she surprises us. I'd like to see how she hides her english accent.

"Professor, why do I have to pretend to be American when you aren't?"
"Shut up, Jean."

In all seriousness, she's done two movies as an American now (though neither released yet); Barely Lethal and Alone. I believe she's done American accents in the audiobooks she's recorded as well.

I'm happy with all these choices. And even with the Shipp and Turner, I think they'll do better than expected.

In this case, a correct idiot.

This.

He may think he's Scoop Jesus, and hype up his articles too unreasonable levels, but he is right from time to time.

In fact, I find he's far better with his casting scoops than he is story scoops; His biggest scoop to date was revealing that Warners. offered Affleck the Batman role over a year before he was announced to have signed.

I love the english accent. Actually, I wouldn't mind if she doesn't pretend to be American.
