Zack Snyder to take on Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead

I'm interested in this. Really want to see something without much FX from Snyder.

Oh gawd, this book seriously needs a new a-hole to be torn.
Can't wait for the satirical take.

It’s already being dragged on Twitter. Paul Ryan once again in the splash zone.

A few of those criticism on twitter are unnecessarily vitriolic.

Regardless of anyone's opinions about his films or interviews, this kind of **** is unacceptable.

Wishing death on someone who you just don't like will always be a dick move. Now if they actually killed someone.... Whatever.

As childish and pathetic as comments like that are, for every one of them there's five from Snyder's fanclub prepping themselves to defend their leader from all the nasty bloggers and critics who are out to get him. This honestly could not be a more perfect story for Snyder to adapt :whatever:

Except, you know, when it's about the President. :whatever:

Defending dear leader again, I see.

Maybe if we didn't have a POS president who says obnoxious, racist, vitriolic bull**** about other people every single day of the week, people wouldn't feel the need to lash out at him.

I love how you pretend you didn't vote for him and yet you take every opportunity to defend him here, even in places where it doesn't make sense (like this thread).

They are making a separate, satiric take?

Nope.

Except, you know, when it's about the President. :whatever:

This isn't the place for this sort of debate, but let's be clear: criticizing/insulting the President, in whatever form it may take, is inherently different than criticizing a film-maker. Not saying either are acceptable, but one makes policies that can and will irreparably change the lives of millions, and the other makes entertainment.

The book was satire all along?

What makes you think it was satirical? Like a lot of philosophical novels there are satirical elements but it'd be a stretch to call it satire. It was a relatively straightforward novel meant to espouse themes and ideas that Rand truly believed in.

Follow the convo.
I'm saying it deserves a satirical take.

No, you said the book was satire all along. Follow the convo.

The book was satire all along?

This has happened several times now, where I will ask you a reasonable question to illuminate something you've said only to have you rudely respond to me to "follow the convo" or something along those lines when in fact you've failed to communicate what it is you're apparently trying to say.

No, it was an inquiry.

No, it was an inquiry.

One that, in this context, made it seem like you believed it was satire and was worth a sincere, honest question on my part.

But, per usual, you responded rudely simply because you can't communicate effectively. I should probably know better at this point.

Well, yeah technically there was an adaptation before. Haven't seen that one to say if they played it straight or not.

One that, in this context, made it seem like you believed it was satire and was worth a sincere, honest question on my part.

But, per usual, you responded rudely for no other reason than you can't communicate effectively. I should probably know better at this point.

I was asking to know if it was satire and you've answered that already.

I was hoping the next movie Zack worked on would be that 300 styled Revolutionary War movie.

I am both repulsed and intrigued at the prospect of nearly-naked George Washington crossing the Delaware.
