The Dark Knight Rises Zack Snyder wants to make a "The Dark Knight Returns" Movie!

Making TDKR in no way impedes on the entire mythos.

No, you can always make more movies, but what's the logic behind going "Hey, let's just skip to the end" and THEN tell all the other important stories?

i think this is a great idea
i would love to see as many different incarnations of batman as possible

they dont have to be related to the previous films
and i think the general audience isnt that dumb to not understand that

with the amount of money TDK made i think there is a good chance this will happen

fingers crossied freddy

I hate the idea only because I hated the comic, I just don't picture the future of Batman in that light in any way.

YAY! i'm not the only one who didn't like the comic.
i feel better.

Why guys? Is the dark fact that the villains may exist because of him or that he exists because of the villains or the fact that he's not sure which one is why. If you read into the disillusionment of it all it is kinda sad but a sheer possibility. Elements of it are in TDK.

Some people hate finales. I do mostly but this one I love.

The logic is that they would be adapting a popular graphic novel that many feel is a great story. Its not skipping to the end of Nolan's series. Its not even apart of that universe. While you may feel that is confusing, don't dismiss the intelligence of moviegoers. They realized that Nolan's movies were not connected to the previous Batman movies and if marketed correctly there will not be any problems with a TDKR movie.

It would not prevent future Batman stories no more than portraying a movie with an older Bond would prevent future movies with a younger Bond.

One thing I would do though is wait a few years after Nolan has completed his 3rd Batman movie.

I know, but it's hard to find people who read comics where i am, much less someone who didn't like it.

I've met a few though.
I'm just glad there's more.

I don't like Dawn of the Dead, I don't like 300, and I have a lot of misgivings about his Watchmen movie. This would not be good.

I liked 300.
But i'm a girl.

It was over 300 half naked men, running around killing each other with capes and massive Abs.

You'd have to like women to not like that movie. haha.

I like TDKR, however, I was never big on the ending, with Bruce taking in the Sons of the Batman. It never sat right with me. Bruce hates killers, and the SOTB were nothing but crazy psychos who switched allegiance to him once he beat their leader. They still killed people even when they were the SOTB. Taking in a bunch of mentally unbalanced kids probably isn't the safest thing to do, or the smartest.

That move I didn't like, and I was kind of so-so on the whole government involvement thing, however, I love the begging. The decent of him back into the cowl, and the confrontation with Two-Face was great.

And thanks Delete Really, I don't think that's as bad as a change as
killing Viedt like some were talking about. As long as Viedt has a big destructive plan to get the world to unite, and still kills a lot of people with this plan, then I'm not too fussed

Mikey Rourke as Batman FTW

Maybe Mark Hamil for Joker? Eh? Or Tim Curry.

WB better make sure FOX doesn't own the rights to the TDK graphic novel. :P

That... would just mean that WB has to go clean their aura because it's impossible for someone to have such recurrent bad luck :hehe:

I don't really like the ending either but I think the themes and the mentality of Batman and his villains are really well done. Not all of the story is great. I loved him waking up and being in the Batcave and his moustache shaven, like he can't fight this drive to defend Gotham. His subconscious won't allow him.

But he prevents them from killing, remember? He's taking them in in order to train and "tame" them, making them an effective force to fight crime/corruption after he is gone.

Yeah, actually that´s the point, he is going to take the responsability of them, because it would be disastrous if he let them with their old ways.

Indeed, Batman breaks their guns (or at least their Leader's) and makes a point for them to use actual, non killing weapons.

Yeah, but it is still completely changing the ending. Now instead of a clear alien target for human aggression... now it's just some stupid change so Snyder doesn't have to put in subtle references about creative people disappearing... and also mean that the movie ends on a lame jump in logic which thinks that everyone will play nice when an AMERICAN agent like Manhattan goes nuts and attacks everyone... even though humans aren't that forgiving and the United States would be completely blamed for Manhattan going psycho.

Not only did they 'create' him in a way (not the actual creation of him, but making him into a weapon for the United States' every whim) but they then made him snap by turning on him because of that report of him causing cancer... so instead of a Manhattan attack all across the world looking like an outside force, it's just going to be another reason for everyone to hate the US.

Will Zack Snyder not rest until he has made every famous GN into a movie?

Willis would be good.Selleck would rock as well.

Would anyone be up for Keaton as Batman again?

Only for a role where he doesn't put on the suit, like old Bruce in Batman Beyond.
