That's not true. In most versions, skin contact with zombie blood doesn't infect you.

The infectious zombies SuperFerret was talking about are the ones in the 28 days/weeks movies, and if IIRC Resident Evil zombies are the same way.

There's...

1. Walk, slow zombies.

2. Zombies that run.

The way I see it, there's two types of zombies.

1 - Magic zombies. Undead raised by magical or ritual means, such as the actions of a necromancer or voodoo priest (though some voodoo zombies are still living).

2 - Science zombies. Undead raised by scientific means, such as a virus or parasite.

Science zombies are typically infectious, magic zombies aren't (though in some cases you'll rise from the dead if any undead kills you).

"The best kind" is how I'd describe them. TWD's zombies are the greatest zombies to ever come to TV or film.

They're among a nebulous type that could fall between the two, like the Night of the Living Dead zombies do. The TV show ones are firmly planted in the science fiction realm.

Uh, because that's what they're based off of? Kirkman said that Darabont and him both share a deep-seeded love for Romero's zombie. They even both said that all of their zombies (in the show) are based off the first zombie in the cemetery of Night of The Living Dead that attacks the sister and brother.

IMO they should have just kept the zombies the way they were in the comic. If I wanted to see Romero's zombies, I'd watch one of his movies.

In the comic the zombies are 100% mindless and that's how I like them. You'll never see them use simple tools or climb.
