1,2 Freddy's coming for you: Welcome to the elm street thread

Anyways, anybody still want the Child Rapist mini story in this one? I kinda want like 1/4 or a little close to 2/4 of this film explaining Freddy's Orgin and holy crap this film is being made by WB.

any one read the article over at shocktoyoudrop saying billy bob is likely not even freddy.

Anybody want this film to be 14A like part 4 & 5 because I heard somewhere is a going to be a high budget film and usealy high budget films here in Canada get 14A ratings.
What's 14A in USA terms?

The child molestation thing has to stay. It's part of what makes him an evil, creepy character.

More than anything I want to see Freddy's origins explained which is why I really wanted a prequel(forget the pilot episode of Freddy's Nightmares). However,I don't want them to go back as far as Rob Zombie did for Michale Myers in Halloween. I don't want to see Freddy as a child. Start showing him in his late teens and early 20's. Show what happened, but not too much.

I think the film should start with Freddy's mistrial, and him being burned. Use about the first 20 minutes or so on back story, then get into the meat of the story.

I'd love to see Nancy's mum leading the group of angry parents who go after Freddy.

That scene in Nightmare 1, where she takes Nancy into the basement, tells her the story of Freddy Krueger and what they did to him, and then shows Nancy Freddy's glove that she took, was awesome.

14A in US terms is usually rated R alot of the times.

This is what 14A is defined as: Suitable for people 14 years of age or older. Those that are under 14 should view with an adult. May contain violence, coarse language and/or sexually suggestive scenes.

Because up in Canada,it seems that alot of the times when rated R movies come out that are rated R there we Canadians end up rating it 14A. Once a blue moon the rated R movie will become 18A or will remain rated R in Canada. It is also possible for a PG-13 movie to be rated 14A too, that's what happened with The Dark Knight. I'm basically basing most of this information based on the fact that I work at a movie theater called Cineplex Odeon.

18A: Suitable for people 18 years of age or older. Persons under 18 should view with an adult. Parents strongly cautioned. Will likely contain explicit violence, frequent coarse language, sexual activity and/or horror.

In one of the episodes of Freddy's Nightmares (I believe it was the first one) they show Freddy's trial and the parents going after him when he's released.

Ummm wait hold on. Did I miss something in the series?? I don't think it was ever actually said or shown that he was a child rapist. I mean sure obviously it was alluded to in several different ways but still it was never made clear. I think it is obvious Freddy at least got a sexual gratification from killing children.

Did you ever see the deleted scene where
Nancy's mother reveals to her that she once had a little brother,as did Glenn and Tina, but they were all murdered by Krueger?

agreed
thats the soul of his evilness (next to yknow, being a killing demon and whatnot)
I'd actually would like to see how he became an "official" demon in this new movie. Like who granted him the evil demon powers.

That'd be great.

For the first couple of Freddy movies, Freddy has always been sexual with the female victims(some male victims as well), whose characters(not the actresses) were supposed to be playing underage high school girls. And I'm pretty the child rape has been part of his character since day one of his movies; The parents band together because their children have been violated and murdered. At least that's what I see in the movies.

freddy: i've always had a thing for the ****es that live in this house

No, I never did. Wow, that sounds terrific :wow:

Did anyone else see Freddy's Dead in the theater with the 3-d ending, ahh the good old days.

Hell yeah , That was a good time . I actually enjoyed all the humor in that movie when i was younger i thought it was the funnies thing .

I like part three and four the best out of the entire series. I thought the first two were ok .

Yes I understand that it is heavily implied but like I said...is it ever flat out made clear?? I don't remember any scene or information saying he was a rapist just a child murderer that got a sexual pleasure from killing and torturing children. I am not saying his character didn't but that was it ever really made clear?

Well the opening scene of Freddy Vs Jason made him look pretty damn creepy as he licked the pic and stuck into a book after killing that little girl.

RUMOR CONTROL: Just How Did Thornton Become Krueger?
Friday, August 15, 2008

I hated this week, I really did. After spending hours wasting my time writing stories on the BS that was GHOSTBUSTERS and the fun of putting out the TRICK 'R TREAT flames Warner accidentally ignited, Robert Englund got fans all stirred up over his claim that Billy Bob Thornton would slip on Freddy Krueger's glove for New Line Cinema's remake of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET. The story, which we all laughed at the second we read it, spread through Internet Land like a dragon burning through a village. Even big sites and news publications reported it as FACT. It was fun watching reputable companies make a complete arse of themselves - but where, oh where, did the rumor stem from? You're going to LOVE this...

During an interview with IFMagazine, Englund tells them exactly where he heard these "facts":

"I heard this rumor from a journalist at a press conference during Comic-Con. I think Billy Bob is a terrific actor. I've been a fan since Evening Shade."

It's amazing how this ***** spreads.
