In fact I'd love to see K-State ditch their craptastic version of the west coast offense and go back to the power running game as well. If it ain't broke, don't **** with it!!!

I love how it took Osborne all of 15 minutes to telll Callahan not to let the door hit him in the ass on the way out.

And yeah Lochneff, I would love to see some option come back to the Big Red.

Tom Osborne comes onto the Athletic Dept staff.....and 2-3 weeks later, Callahan gets the boot...I bet they even cleaned his office out for him, put all his crap in a box and changed the locks on the office

The Huskies aren't doing too bad considering they have only been in Div 1 since 2002....with a possible bowl game if they can beat WV

Actually, it was 10 minutes. :)

Yeah. Think Turner Gill would bring it back?

I don't think we'll see Turner back. I like Turner, but I don't think he's what we need right now. Most of the insiders are putting their money on Bo Pelini right now. He has said he want's to run an offense "like Florida...but better." :)

Hilarious:woot:

Yes, they are, and he is very upset that somebody took them.

I thought that was if they WON...:oldrazz:

If they win, Lew Perkins is going to buy Coach Mangino all of Western Kansas, that a herd of cattle so large it could have its own Congressman may graze in it.

Hey Badger, I got good news for you.

Cover jinx anyone?

I've been thinking, and that whole "cover jinx" hasn't done much to hurt the Celtics (off the best start in years), Patriots (murderous rampage through NFL), or Red Sox (World Series in 4) lately. On that note, I hope they pumped the Doughy Avenger's belly full of New England Clam Chowder this morning.

I don't believe in the SI Cover Jinx. The Bucs were on the cover prior to the 2002 season, and all they did was go on to win the Super Bowl.

Yeah. Think Turner Gill would bring it back?

Gill might, but sadly I don't think he'll get the Head Coach job. Word on the inside says Pelini...but that doesn't mean Gill might not want to come back as Off. Coordinator or something.

I like that...but it wouldn't hurt in the "throwback to better days thereby garnering me more love from Husker Nation" idea for Bo to have at least one or two option plays in the ole playbook, and whip em out once a game ;)

That is way Tom and I are homies :D

I think the cover jinx is only exclusive to the NFL

Michigan and USC fans probably feel different.

And, that's just this year. :o

Gill will not come back as anything other than head coach. Bank on that.

I think we need to be careful with the whole "going back to the good ol' days" idea. Some things need to be brought back. The Unity Council, the hard hitting practices, allowing back ex-players, repairing relationships with boosters and HS Coaches that Cally/Peterson alienated, more attention to in-state recruits, fast, angry, and emotional playing by the blackshirts, etc.

I don't think that means abandoning the "style" of offense we have now. I don't believe we should go back to the old style wishbone option game. I'd like to see something a little more in between. A little more balanced. It doesn't mean that the option can't be a part of that offense however. Just my thoughts though. I trust Dr. Tom....and I'm glad to hear they are using the research consultants to help with the coaching search. Anything will be better than Cally and Coz.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I don't love how we can score in under a minute if needed with some quality passes! I actually agree with you 100% not a complete change, but a hybrid of west-coast/spread offense and old fashioned I-Formation/pure smashmouth running. I think such an offense could succeed quite well. Oh, and bring back the full walkon program...it'd help interject more passion into the team (not to mention could garner us this decades Macovikas, Wiegerts, and Trus ;))

Rocky Top, you'll always be HOME SWEET HOME TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE....

Good Ol' Rocky Top

Rocky Top Tennessee, Rocky Top Tennessee.........

:woot: WOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now we just have to beat the Ruins next week  :woot:

We are in agreement then, Sir. Go Big Red. :)

No Div 1 college that plans on competing for a national championship, in this day and age, relies on a walkon program....midmajors and smaller schools can get away with that....
