Seeing Romo's name in the same sentence as Aikman, Elway and Favre makes my eyes bleed.

No, he can't be compared to them. But he is much more than just an average quarterback. He's played fantastically in most of the games he started. And, as I said, it's a lot more likely this was just a weird bad game for him than anything actually substantial.

He also has one of the best recieving squads in the NFL and a pretty damn good offensive line.

:wow: 1 bad game so you sit the guy with the 2nd bets QB rating in league behind Tom Brady? You do realize Romo has been playing BETTER than Peyton Manning right? Would you bench him to? Romo is now the NFL leader in yards and 2nd in touchdowns.

Yeah; benching him would be REAL smart

Big Ben had a super bowl ring and Cowher had no problem at all benching him for bad play. When you coddle a quarterback who performs poorly, you get a Kordell Stewart.

In fact, Romo to this point has proven himself to be nothing more than an average quarterback

Matt what are you talking about? He made the pro bowl for a reason and is currently 2nd in touchdown passes behind Brady and first in yards thrown.

That's what you call "average"? Gimme a ****in break you have no idea what your talking about if thats the case. Stop exagerating; he had a bad game IT HAPPENS. Know what good qb, good coach, and good team would do?

MOVE ON. Benching him would not only make the team suffer without him but would serve as a reminder of what happened; which is the last thing he wants to do.

That's pretty friggin' illogical.

The Cardinals beat the Steelers, so surely the superior Seahawks would've beat them down too?

This was a magnetic crowd on Monday night with a team motivated to shock the world. Dallas will be ready at home for the Pats.

Cardinals, Steelers and Seahawks are not the Pats.

I think a young quarterback learns more from being benched for his mistakes then coddled for them.
What does Romo have to learn?

NOT to throw 5 interceptions in a game? ...yeah, I think he knows that already.

I could see your point, but you have to look at it as what would help the team more; benching a beloved QB on a 5-0 squad so you can "teach him a lesson", or give him the benefit of the doubt for one game, keep the morale of the team up, and play him the next week. What makes more sense to you? If it's the former, as I said, you would be 1-15, and all of your players would have turned on you by the end of the season.
Look at how well Big Ben is playing this year. I have to think at least part of that is because Cowher didn't put up with his crap last season and had the guts to bench him and put Batch in when he was playing poorly.
But Ben was playing poorly for multiple games - the whole season, in fact, Romo had ONE bad game. That's not nearly enough evidence that he needs to "learn something" by being benched.

I am. At least he would learn something from it.

He would learn his head coach has no confidence in him. Nice lesson to learn......:o

Excel, I don't know what game you was looking at.... LOL!

:whatever:

Jaws will analyze it for you. :ninja:

He is an average quarterback who puts up good numbers because of good recievers and a good line. Nothing more. He made pro-bowl because the NFC generally sucks (especially last season) and he was the media's golden boy.

As a Bears fan watching the aftermath of this game, I'm having this strange feeling of deja vu.

Kordell Stewart wasn't a quarterback, he was a WR with the wrong numbered jersey.

I know what you mean......... Romo?? Get real!!

Romo had a bad night but at least he kept his head together. he will be fine this sunday

GO COWBOYS!

I'm sure Brad Johnson could turn the Cowboys around next week against New England.:whatever:

Wow! That was a very exciting game! 13 seconds on the clock after an incomplete pass and the Cowboys managed to win the game with a FG in the last 2 seconds!

Still thinking of benching Romo?

funny you bring up the Big Ben comparison; because how did he play last week when his "powerhouse team" LOST to the ****in Arizona Cardinals? He had 2 picks and 70 les syards then Romo did and they LOST.

Was he benched? No; they came out and beat the Seahawks 21-0 in what was supposed to be a good game.

You make it seem like there would be a cou'p among the Dallas players if Romo sat one game on the side lines with a clip board.

But Ben was playing poorly for multiple games - the whole season, in fact, Romo had ONE bad game. That's not nearly enough evidence that he needs to "learn something" by being benched.

Maybe, but his performances never reached the level of Romo tonight.

You also have to take into account that he has neither the recievers, nor the line Dallas has and his team was plagued by injuries. Ontop of that, he was playing against a coach who knows him better than anyone in the NFL.

Wow. We agree on something! That's exactly why he made the Pro Bowl! There was big controversy on whether he should have been there.

Romo sucked tonight....

Cowboys did not play well tonight....

The kicker saved the game tonight....

Cowboys got lucky tonight....

But no matter what, the team did not quit....THAT is what you take into the rest of the week, after Phillips kicks their asses tomorrow.

Neither Staubach nor Aikman threw as many yards in passes their first games as Romo. He has a great base to build from, he should be allowed to build from that base.

LMAO, Young is slamming Romo.........and he deserves it from another quarterback.
