2008 Academy Awards

After TWBB, I watched some of his other movies and you would never guess the guy that accepted the award tonight played those characters.:o

when i was a kid i had no idea the guy who played edward scissorhands was the same guy in The ninth gate..until i got the internet. :o

my brother had no idea willy wonka was jack sparrow...he still doesn't believe me. :o

We're there any real upsets? Seemed like there weren't.

Have you seen the movie? That is what is amazing about what Depp did. The intensity SHOULD have been gone, but it wasn't. Very few actors could've pulled that off.

I agree . The intensity was maintained and Depp pulled off this performance exceptionally well for what he was dealing with.

Also I'm baffled that someone would say Dicaprio is an "average" actor . Even if you don't like an actor you cannot ignore what they have accomplished.

Willy Wonka sucked:o

Yeah My Two Favorite Films Of 2007 Won The Most Oscars

No Country For Old Men And The Bourne Ultimatum!

Well Matt for Depp to win a one he will have to do a serious drama, sadly that's how it goes.

Unfortunately you're right. Otherwise he will be like Arkin and get a pity Oscar when he has one foot in the grave.

SON OF A *****.

WHY DID THIS MOVIE WIN?!

Chalk this up with another mistake for the Academy like when Crash won in '05 and Million Dollar Baby in '04.

Because it was the best out of all the nominees.

All in all, good show. Better than last year imo...Congrats to No Country!

Juno was well written and Ellen did great, but the level of acting from the whole cast was no where near that of NCFOM

It's late as ****.
Stop posting until I get back tomorrow afternoon. :o

Both those films were great.

I'll agree to disagree. But I thought ALL FOUR OTHER NOMINEES were better along with a slew of movies snubbed for No Country's position. Hype won this award.

Well, agree or disagree with the winners (I'm a bit disappointed that there were absolutely no suprises)...I think we can all agree on one thing...Jon Stewart should be ashamed. :csad:

I hope they get a really funny host next year...John has lost his edge for me and is not as funny as he used to be. I want to see someone give jabs.

Eh? I mean, I guess it was the best. Then again, out of the those nominated, I only saw No Country for Old Men. My impression of the film has dwindled though. I feel now that movie road totally on the shoulders of Bardem. Had he not been in it, I think it would have tanked.

No country for old men won best pic right? i missed the ending.

mr. conti!! if you gonna find music to go out with.... USE BATMAN!!!!!
