2008 Academy Awards

Well, agree or disagree with the winners (I'm a bit disappointed that there were absolutely no suprises)...I think we can all agree on one thing...Jon Stewart should be ashamed. :csad:

I agree 100%:o

Both those films were great.

In 2005 Munich, Goodnight and Good Luck, Brokeback Mountain, Capote and Syriana (among others) were better.

In 2004 The Aviator and Sideways were MUCH better.

Well, that was fun. :)

Indeed...

Im really unhappy i didnt do an oscar pool this year. Most of whom i thought would win won.

Hooray for No Country. the best damn movie of the year

Overall meh.

Glad Diablo Cody won.
Transformers got raped by a bear and Matt Damon.
No County was overhyed.

Opinions, although I will say Syrianna was a better flick.

I'll agree to disagree. But I thought ALL FOUR OTHER NOMINEES were better along with a slew of movies snubbed for No Country's position. Hype won this award.

Just because you didnt like the movie doesnt mean that hype won the award.

I was under the impression Atonement was getting all the hype.

I think I would have been surprised if any other movie other than No Country or There Will Be Blood won best picture. Between those two I guess it could have gone either way. Personally I enjoyed TWBB a lot more. Those two scenes with Tommy Lee Jones just kinda killed No Country for me. I still liked it, but just not as much.

To answer your question, I was talking about your older avy with the multiple images of Sidney (since I think you missed my last post on it).

It makes me sad when something this overrated wins. But after movies like Titanic, Shakespeare in Love, The English Patient and Million Dollar Baby winning Oscars in recent memory, I'll just have to shrug this off. A marketing campaign won this award.

My opinion, of course.

Iagree about 2005, but 2004 Sideways sucked but The Aviator definitely gave Million Dollar Baby a run for its money. Both were very deserving

Glad about Diablo Cody receiving the Best Original Screenplay award. Well deserved. Anderson - snubbed once more, even though There Will Be Blood is probably his best film to date. Bardem - again, amazing performance and it's amazing that he won.

Great show. Until next year..

I didn't laugh once at anything Stewart said tonight...
