2008 Academy Awards

Well, agree or disagree with the winners (I'm a bit disappointed that there were absolutely no suprises)...I think we can all agree on one thing...Jon Stewart should be ashamed. :csad:
so bourne sweeping is no surprise? golden compass kicking ILM's ass is jus hoo hum?
you saw the future didn't you?:oldrazz:

:lmao:

Thats a complete load.

Anyone who says Million Dollar Baby, A LIFETIME MOVIE with good cinematography and acting deserved to win over the Scorcesse masterpiece that was The Aviator needs to rewatch both immediately. And there were so many good movies in 2005, Crash winning is just sad.

SON OF A *****.

WHY DID THIS MOVIE WIN?!

Chalk this up with another mistake for the Academy like when Crash won in '05 and Million Dollar Baby in '04.
This movie deserved to win. Which one did you want to win?

Eh, it's all just opinion duder, and Ive never heard anyone describe The Aviator as a masterpiece, i remember a lot saying they hoped Scorsese didn't win for it b/c it wasn't him at his very best.

Watched all of them. Nothing great.

Ed Norton is the best actor of this generation. Dicaprio is not even close.

Totally Disagree. NCFOM was something that I have never seen before. Javier Bardem created one of the scariest villains since Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lamb.

I loved how there was nice ending. The hero didn't win and the freaking hotel shootout in the hotel was amazing.

Juno i felt was a close second. But NCFOM was just a tid better.

This year's awards were about as bad as the year Return of the King won everything except Best Hobbit.

No, its just that no one gives a **** about those awards. :yay:

The Aviator & Million Dollar Baby are well made, well written pictures. I frankly love both.

ZOMG he was in Fight Club and American History X, he is t3h bestest, puhlease bro. :o

Dicaprio has more films under his belt that have done exceedingly well. I think both are good actors and wouldnt rate one above the other.

I'm going to have to see no country for old men now .It looks good but not best picture of the year good. I'll find out.

The tech awards no-one really cares about so it's hard to say if there are upsets or not.

I know it is opinion, but the rolling laughing pissed me off. ;)

As for Aviator, I'd call it one of Scorcesse's best that goes mostly overlooked because it didn't have anyone murdered. I personally liked it better than The Departed.

At any rate (IMO) it was better than MDB, which had the same script and storyline as something that airs primetime on the Lifetime network.

Hey! Joe Pesci had that award coming after he was screwed out of the Oscar for Gone Fishin'! :cmad:

In regards to Best Picture, Best Director, and all four acting awards, I agree with every single one. That's a first for me.
