2008 Academy Awards

I'm starting to wonder if in 2009 they'll give Heath Ledger the oscar for Joker, seeing as he is dead.

Here is where I stand on that. Dreamgirls was a great film. Hudson proved that she can act, and she did a good job at it. However, she won the award because she could sing. There were far more deserving actresses worthy of that award than she was. Give her a Grammy, not an Oscar.

That's just me...

What exactly would she get a grammy for..?

Bird needs to move into the non-animated realm. He is so damn talented (BIRD FOR SUPERMAN!). Ironically, if he did direct live action, the academy would never ever give his type of movies a second thought.

Uh his next movie is a LIVE ACTION period piece/disaster movie.

Man, I hate these musical performances. I was hoping they'd knock out Enchanted in one sitting.

I'll just be the 10,000th person to say it....

w00t, Javier FTW!

Because I thought her performance was fantastic. . .

Julia Roberts, Halle Berry... now those are undeserving.

Roberts won because she had a 'make up Oscar' coming and had very weak competition that year. Berry won because...well...showing how progressive they are was the Academy's selected cause that year. Dench should've taken it. So yeah, I won't disagree with either of those...but Hudson still didn't deserve hers as she was not by a long shot the best actress in the category.

I mentioned a Grammy because of her singing ability. She sang her ass off in the movie. She didn't act her ass off.

Wow, didn't think he'd be presenting after he tried to kill himself.

Of course not. They will do a little montage for him, but they won't give him an Oscar for the Joker.

Let's see the movie first.
Well he has a few other films coming out that year...at least one other. And I'm not sure whether or not his Bob Dylan one made the cut-off. But I could totally see the Academy pulling a move like that.

BTW, his Joker will be good regardless of how good the film is, we already know that much it seems. Oscar good, I doubt it, but it will be good.

The bottom of that dress gives the tentacle feel and makes her look like Ursula from The Little Mermaid. :hehe:

...sigh...I hate these little animated clips they do every year. Always so frickin corny.
