LaGarrett Blount punches an opposing player after the game and then has to be restrained by teammates and security alike from confronting fans in the crowd; His univesity is granted the latitude to determine his punishment, eventually resulting in an reinstatement.

Dez Bryant has several meetings with Deion Sanders and is suspended for the balance of the season for simply not admitting the full extent of the meetings, where he committed no wrongdoing.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the National Collegiate Athletic Association!

Seriously. I haven't really been crazy about any of them since they moved away from the 99-01 threads. Come to think of it the passing designs they had before that weren't too hot either. Give me what E. Reed, Dorsey, Sean Taylor and those guys were wearing or take it back to 80's/early 90's style.

Also, I like how that add promotes 'Ten Storied Programs' and then they throw TCU up there. Really? I'd even let Missouri slide, but TCU?

florida didnt matter until 1996. they are not storied at all.

Lane Kiffin's new recruiting line will be "You can go to South Carolina and end up pumping gas, or you can come to Tennessee and rob gas stations."

KNOXVILLE- Three University of Tennessee football players were arrested early Thursday for allegedly trying to rob three men outside a Knoxville convenience store. The incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. at a convenience store on Cumberland Avenue, Knoxville police spokesman Darrell DeBusk said.

Nu'Keese Richardson, a freshman wide receiver from Pahokee, Fla., and Janzen Jackson, a freshman defensive back from Lake Charles, La., and Michael Edwards, a freshman defensive back from Cleveland, were arrested a short time later. Each was charged with three counts of attempted armed robbery, DeBusk said.

DeBusk said that the victims told police that they were sitting inside their vehicle, parked next to a Toyota Prius, while a friend was inside the Pilot store and were approached by a black male wearing a black hoodie and brandishing a black handgun.

"The victims stated that a black male then exited from the passenger side of the Prius, wearing a black hoodie, walked around to the front passenger door of their car, opened it, and stated, ‘give us everything you've got,' " DeBusk said.

The victims told police that they all showed their wallets to the suspects and showed them that they did not have any money. A third black male then approached and told the other two suspects, "We've got to go," DeBusk said. The suspects then got into the Prius and drove away.

Police spotted the Prius a short time later and stopped the vehicle and arrested the three players.

"In plain view, officers observed two black hoodies on the back sat. Underneath the back seat, officers located a black, CO2-powered pellet gun.

The suspects were taken back to the store, and the victims positively identified Edwards and Richardson as the two who approached their vehicle, DeBusk said.

Tennessee athletics director Mike Hamilton said the school would evaluate the situation before deciding on any disciplinary action.

"At this time we are currently evaluating the circumstances surrounding an incident involving Mike Edwards, Janzen Jackson and Nu'Keese Richardson," Hamilton said. "Any decisions or comments regarding their status will not be made until the evaluations are complete."

I really hope they do that. That's why they haven't been NC contenders. It's definitely the uniform :o.

That pumping gas quote is old isnt it?

Yeah. But why pump gas at the station when you can attempt to commit robbery at one? :hehe:

Gahhh, no one chokes worse than South Florida. They've had some great starts the past few years, a couple of 5-0's to start...and they end up blowing it.

The Mountain West Conferences proposes a playoff system from 2010
through 2013.

What do you think?

Cute, but I don't think all of that is even necessary. My problem with the top 8 teams is that there isn't always eight teams representative of a national title contender at the end of every year. You look at this year, there are only a few teams that are legitmate and everyone else will end up with two losses or one loss for those with a weak schedule. Not to mention an absolutely meaniningless fifth BCS Bowl.

3 dumb guys held up an even dumber guy. What the hell...

KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- One of the men police said was a victim of an attempted armed robbery by three UT football players told 6 News Thursday he thinks they should stay on the team.

Corey B. Zickefoose, 20, said he was sitting in the driver's seat of a 1998 Hyundai Elantra on Cumberland Ave. when one of the players pulled a gun and demanded money.

But that's not enough to prevent the players from being kicked off the team, he told 6 News.

"I think they should still be able to play football, regardless," he said. "Tennessee is my place. It's my football team."

"Even after they put a gun in your face, you say let them play football?" 6 News asked.

"Yeah, it's Tennessee. That's the way it is sometimes," Zickefoose said.

The three freshmen football players, defensive back Janzen Jackson, 19, wide receiver Nu'Keese Richardson, 19, and defensive back Michael Edwards, 18, were arrested early Thursday on three charges of attempted armed robbery.

Marie Montmarquet, 21, was also charged with attempted armed robbery, as well as some drug-related offenses.

Police say the players attempted to rob at gunpoint Zickefoose and two friends, Benjamin J. Everett, 20, and Corey M. Smith, 18, of Maryville. The three victims are not UT students.

"The guy jumps out of the passenger seat, runs up and just swings open my door like this and stuck a gun in my face like that," Zickefoose said.

"You weren't scared at all?" 6 News asked.

"No," Zickefoose said.

"A guy is pointing a gun in your face and you aren't scared?" 6 News asked.

"No, I knew I didn't have any money or nothing. I just know how it is. a lot of people do stupid stuff," Zickefoose said.

So having your life in danger is a semi-regular thing? Remind me never to go to Knoxville.

Sadly enough, there are people like that around every major college team. Some people put these teams up on WAY too high of a pedestal.

Speaking of sad, I'm probably going to watch nearly every down of the slaughter of my Mountaineers at the hands of the Bearcats. If we can come out and punch them in the mouth early, we may have a shot, but this Cincy team is a much better version of WVU's system.
