Well I as a Hurricane fan you would have thought I would enjoy seeing Florida go do down but I didn't for 3 reasons: 1 I like all FL schools to do well unless they are playing us:) 2 I'm a fan of perfection it would have been cool to see them go all the way, 3 I like Tebow and that poor guy gave them every chance to win.

I haven't seen so many dropped balls and one arm tackles in my life!

I'm not taking anything away from Alabama the way they came out and shook it up at the beginning was the way to shake Florida but they should have recovered. Also McElroy had the freaking game of his life!

I really thought FL's D was gonna win the game not Tebow but they didn't show and I honestly feel bad for the guy and wish him well.

Ps. I won't be mad if he wins the Heisman this year because they stole it last year and he had great numbers just not superman Tebow numbers.

Reports are suggesting that Brian Kelly is the new head coach of Notre Dame. :csad:

I always doubted it because I expected ND would spend more time...you know...actually doing research.

Brian Kelly is not the best hire they could have made.

Kinda reminds me of Auburn after they showed Tuberville the door...they barely did any searching.

Fire wtf is the deal with AJ Green? How bad was he hurt?

they wanted a head coach who is going to do as the AD and the ND administration says...any other head coach wouldn't agree to be their puppet

Fire wtf is the deal with AJ Green? How bad was he hurt?

Shoulder sprain, not serious..but they didn't want to risk anything worse to him with the season virtually at it's end point at the time.

Has Kansas found someone to replace Mangino and his massive girth?

Word on the street was Houston Nutt was interested in Kansas, but he's quickly shot that rumor down.

Has Kansas found someone to replace Mangino and his massive girth?

here

Buffalo coach Turner Gill is the leading candidate for the open coaching job at Kansas, ABC broadcaster Brent Musburger said during the second half of the Big 12 championship game between Texas and Nebraska.
During CBS's pregame show leading into the Alabama-Florida SEC title game, Tony Barnhardt said that Gill would interview at Kansas on Sunday. Gill, a former quarterback at Nebraska, has a 20-30 record in four seasons at Buffalo, including a Mid-American Conference championship in 2008.
Gill has a daughter who attends Kansas and has been mentioned as a potential candidate, but earlier in the week said he had not yet been contacted by anyone at KU.
"I think there are only a few schools where I would be interested, and if they're interested in me I would evaluate it and go from there," Gill told the Buffalo News. On Saturday the newspaper was unable to reach Gill or Buffalo athletic director Warde Manuel.
Some of the other potential candidates talked about for the Jayhawks job, vacated when Mark Mangino resigned, include Southern Mississippi coach Larry Fedora, Houston's Kevin Sumlin, East Carolina's Skip Holtz, Stanford's Jim Harbaugh, Texas A&M offensive coordinator Nolan Cromwell and former Tennessee coach Phil Fulmer.
Fedora and Houston have been assistant coaches in the Big 12. Kansas athletic director Lew Perkins hired Holtz at Connecticut. The man whom Perkins hired to replace Holtz, Randy Edsall, also could has come up in speculation about a successor to Mangino.
Speculation about Harbaugh was ignited when he made a home visit to a recruit in the Kansas City area earlier this week.

Word on the street was Houston Nutt was interested in Kansas, but he's quickly shot that rumor down.

Nutt does have Big 12 history, but there is no way he would leave the SEC for Kansas.

Does sound like Charlie Strong may be headed to Louisville. He will likely bring some Gator coaches with him.

Well, whoever Kansas hires as their next coach, they won't be as big as a house, that's for certain.

Lane Kiffin is under investigation for being a pimp.

The NCAA is investigating Tennessee’s football recruiting practices, including the use of hostesses to attract top players, The New York Times reported on its Web site Wednesday.

The NCAA has met with four prospects and is expected to talk to two more this week, The Times reported.

Tennessee athletic director Mike Hamilton told the newspaper an investigation was ongoing, but did not provide any details.

Marcus Lattimore, a high school running back, told The Times several hostesses came to a game in South Carolina and brought signs including one that read, “Come to Tennessee.”

The hostesses are considered representatives of the university and are not allowed to recruit players off campus. The visits could be considered violations of NCAA rules.
Hostesses? What the puck..

If that's true, Kiffin is a disgrace and needs to be banned for life on all levels of football... only after I try out for the Vols though.

I read about that on Deadspin...sounds interesting...but apparently it's a practice that has been in place for some time (before Kiffin even got to Tennesse) so put the pitchfork away, Tonie

Guns and hookers..sounds like Knoxville is the place to be!

House Subcommittee OKs College Playoff Bill

WASHINGTON -- A House subcommittee approved legislation Wednesday aimed at forcing college football to switch to a playoff system to determine a national champion, over the objections of some lawmakers who said Congress had more pressing matters on its plate.

The bill, which faces long odds of becoming law, would ban the promotion of a postseason NCAA Division I football game as a national championship unless that title contest is the result of a playoff. The measure passed by voice vote in a House Energy and Commerce Committee subcommittee, with one audible "no," from Rep. John Barrow, D-Ga.

"With all due respect, I really think we have more important things to spend our time on," Barrow said before the vote, although he stressed he didn't like the current Bowl Championship Series, either.

The bill's sponsor, GOP Rep. Joe Barton of Texas, said the BCS system is unfair and won't change unless prompted by Congress.

The vote came three days after the BCS selections were announced, including the Jan. 7 national title game between No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 Texas.

In a statement before the vote, BCS executive director Bill Hancock said, "With all the serious matters facing our country, surely Congress has more important issues than spending taxpayer money to dictate how college football is played."

The subcommittee chairman, Rep. Bobby Rush, an Illinois Democrat who co-sponsored the bill, said, "We can walk and chew gum at the same time."
Eh. Nice sentiment, but there'll be a healthy fight before the fatcats let their cash cow go the way of the Dodo.

Fire,

I've heard rumors of Tubberville go to GA as a DC/ head coach in waiting with the agreement Richt leaves in two years as, supposedly, he wants to do something in the missions field. Sounds quite laughable, but I am serious I've heard these rumors.

Comments?

I am not so sure because their cash crop would make MORE money with a playoff system. The increased finical intake is the biggest reason why I still believe the playoff system will eventually happen.
