Looks like Orlando is taking Howard off the table.
As a Lakers fan I'm happy TBH. If things work out, we can still get him in the offseason for much less. And if not, at least we didn't insult anybody else on the squad any further, and hopefully can start concentrating on the season ahead.
In the meantime, Kupchak & Buss had better have some type of backup plan for Odom, as it stands right now, we have zero bench...
I'm still unhappy with the Odom trade, and in a way I'd rather traded Bynum than Odom because at least Odom won't be out with injury in the middle of the season, like Bynum has done ever since he took over the starting center job years ago. Now when Bynum is on IR again, who will take over his position? Unfortunately, from what I've heard Bynum is Jim Buss' own pet project, and he won't trade him for just about anything.
Melo on the Lakers woulda been terrible. Melo and Kobe woulda had a knife fight in the showers after the first game.

Congrats to Clippers for pulling off this blockbuster deal, something that the old Clippers team won't have been able to do. However, they gave up both Gordon and the T-Wolves' first-round pick in the trade, and I think they ultimately gave up a bit too much for CP3. But neverthless, congrats.
If he ain't no closer to winning a title in 2 years then he'll leave. No matter how much they can give him.
