I know one thing, and I've seen it time and again going all the way back to High School: Lebron CANNOT stop Carmelo. At all. And with the streak he's on, he might actually take something away from Lebron's offensive game as well.

Trying to guard Melo is a monumental task even if he's not rolling, but as evidenced by their last meeting, trying to preserve Lebron's energy but putting him on someone else just won't work. If Amare and Smith can be consistent, they have a shot. Unfortunately, I don't think they will.

They'd be better off against the Heat without Lin and having the offense run more through Melo's hands anyway...

I wouldn't want Lin back until after they play the Heat...

Agreed and I want Lin back. But Chalmers and Cole are licking their chops hoping Lin comes back because the Heat will feed off of his turnovers. If/when they go to the second round, I'd want Lin back. I want Amare back against the Heat because like Melo owns LBJ, Stat owns Bosh. Plus the size alone will give the Heat fits, with two shot blockers......................well when Stat has his mind set on playing defense, which I think he will due to Woodson, they can again give the Heat problems.

Also, before Stat went out, he was playing well and the Knicks were like 6-1 when he was in the lineup under Woodson so it's not so far fetched that he can come back and the Knicks actually get better.

Knicks can give both the Bulls and Heat a 7 game series, but do not think they can beat neither team right now.

If I was coaching a defense I let Melo run wild. He can score 50 for all I care. I want him to hog the ball. Stop everyone else.

You are giving Spo way to much credit. It's something I don't understand with teams. Why double team guys when they have great 3 point shooters? I'd let Wade and LBJ score 80 all day, rather than get Mike Miller and James Jones going. It's the Boston Celtics style, which is why they give the Heat problems. I'd let Melo and Stat have their way rather than get JR Smith and Novak going because as you can see when they played the Knicks, Melo got tired at the end but they did double though, the other guys just were not hitting. Which is why I think the Knicks will give them problems because sooner or later those guys will get on and it's crazy to leave them open.

Indeed. You let Melo have the ball all game everybody is out of rhythm and then hit him with the double team late in the 4th and watch JR and Novak brick outside shots because they haven't been in the game. It's so simple but is it?

Easier said than done but good teams make it work.

Anyone watching the Bulls / Heat game? Shaq is talking about something that you never, EVER do on the bench ...

Looked like someone on the Heat bench might have farted. Pretty funny clip and it does look like that's what happened.

Sounds about right, but you can never tell here with this new coach and once Amare returns...who knows maybe Lin comes back early.

But I think we lose with Bibby getting ton of minutes

F'n Shaq of all people talking about this.

Boy, the Bulls sure seem to be limping home down the stretch. I hope all of Rose's broken parts stay together once the playoffs start.

I have no idea what to make of the East at this point. The Bulls and Heat both have issues and the rest of the teams aren't as good. There's no clear dark horse candidate. I think the champ is coming out of the West again this year, whether it be the favorite OKC Thunder, the Spurs or Lakers.

I have to but Spurs will fall apart due to health, and OKC will have another Westbrook putting on a Kobe show.................Lakers out of the West. East is not easy to predict but the Celtics have been playing the best and I'm just not sold on Spoelstra.

Knicks v Heat should be a fun series if it happens...cant tell if Magic are going to go 0-4, 1-3

I'm not sure either, which makes this very exciting but I will say this: If Chris Bosh steps up the same way he did in critical spots last postseason, and D-Wade is healthy and the player we know him to be...and the Heat still lose? Lebron might have to stay in London. For his sake.

I been saying that for weeks now. WOuld be a 7 game old skool Heat/KNicks playoff series. I hope we get fights like we saw in the late 90s with Alonzo and Larry Johnson.

I dont think the Miami 3 are tough guys who like to fight...Chris Bosh especially

Even Howard-less, you figure they beat Charlotte. The tank is strong with the Bobcats... not that they were any good in the first place, but still.

On April 30th, Brooklyn will have a team to call their own for the first time in 65 years when the New Jersey Nets become the Brooklyn Nets. Anyone surprised that they will not be called the New York Nets?

I think they are really trying to play up the whole being in Brooklyn. Just wondering how long it's going to take to build up the franchise. I'm wondering if the hundreds of NJ Nets fans will now travel into Brooklyn especially if they lose Williams.

Im in the Sports media industry and I work closely with the Brooklyn Sports Entertainment who own the Barclays Center on a campaign with us right now. And you are right, the play is all about Brooklyn and bringing the sports culture back to a borough that used to be known for it.

The Knicks have a decent window to do something in the Finals in the next few years, but alternatively, the Nets could benefit with the Knicks missing out especially if they put forward a new exciting product. Williams and Howard next year could have brought a lot of new fans to Brooklyn, especially if the Knicks were .500 mid season .
