I guess your right, but your saying that since Chicago is a black city thats why they would all be black, if that was the case I would turn down membership. Luke was not on the Avengers just cause he was black, either was Storm, or Black Lightning, or Cyborg. The idea of this team is to be a BLACK team from a black city, that is not the idea of the JLA, Teen Titans, New Avengers, or the Power Rangers. So its slightly different than the way you are portraying it.

Not busting your chops or anything...just sayin'. Folks on this very forum accuse Marvel of pandering to black fans over the Panther/Storm union...can you imagine the backlash if Marvel threw a team of black heroes toghther..."just because"?

Actually, an all black team was proposed to Marvel back in the early eighties (i think it was by Tony Isabella, but dont quote me). The line-up suggested back then was Panther, Falcon, Luke Cage, Storm, Nightshade, Black Goliath, and Thunderbolt (a speedster who appeared briefly in Powerman/Iron Fist)...the reason for they're gathering was to oppose The Sons Of The Serpent (kind of a high tech Klu Klux Klan who originally fought The Avengers and Defenders)...not sure why this never saw the light of day.

Hypnotize = Puff Daddy + DC comics the Question

RPM = G4TV's Will O'Neal + DC comics Flash + MTV 'Pimp my Ride's Mad Mike

Queen Divine Justice = Queen Latifa + Blue Beetle + Jeanane Garufallo

Aegis = Will Smith + Any Sci-Fi action movie role only less annoying

Vibraxas = (Coming to America) Eddie Murphy + Ozzy Osborn to Queen's Sharon Osborn.


It's hard to explain but think a superhero romp similiar to She-Hulk, NextWave or GLA with a dash of BET.

My point is what does it matter? it's not like they are excluding anyone from joining, but it kinda happened that way. It's not a big deal all the FF are white or the original X-men where all white. It's not a big deal just happened the best team for the region and happens to be black.

I'm not expecting every Canadian hockey team to have a token black guy.

I live in Ohio... and the only hero that makes me think "Ohio" is Squirrel Girl, since we have tons of Squirrels around here. And being that I doubt they'd separate them, I'll say bring the GLA to Ohio!

OK bottom line, what does it matter. If a super team came outta East LA most likely most if not all of them would be I don't know Latino. Just like a super team born outta Minnesota would be of Scandinavian descent. It's not a "woe is me black people" deal so it's a mute point.

Just because I come up with a team that reflects my own experience in Atlanta does mean a thing. Get the stick out your ass dude.

Guy my team has a former pimp street hustler, A Wakandan, a American who happens to be a Wakandan Queen, a Tech head nerd boy, a everyman of Jamaican descent(Aegis) and a mutant.

All very different all black same as the FF and any other diverse team who happen to be all white.

I'm not bent out of shape i just think it a simple as 2 wrongs dont make a right. Just because the majority of teams are "white" doesnt mean there has to be an all black team just because most other teams are white. To me it just brings the wrong kind of attention.

Theres no other reason for my choice other than hey I like these characters or see a good scenario using them with a tone that lends it self to a black team nothing more nothing less. Hell it could be a team of all white characters, but that's not what I chose.

I've posted many times team ideas or character ideas that consisted of entirely white heroes and no one made a peep that my Excalibur idea was all white guys. Your debating for nothing guy.
