50 state initiative

I wasnt present for those posts, and if it's just your idea and not Marvels, fine. But when I choose teams of my liking, race is no factor in my dicisions, but you do what you wanna do, who am I to tell you what to do.

*sigh*

It's just a superteam idea.

Assuming what?

That this is some 'I issa po' black folk needa supa team too' instead of "hey Deemar thinks this is a cool idea/or not but it has nothing to do with the fact I Marvelman am hung up on the idea of a all black super team"

Which is me assume what your thinking:woot:

Either way it's all good. Basically you don't like my idea. :word:

Basically thats right, I really dont like any of those characters either. Dont pull the race card though, please "I issa po' black folk" just because I dont like your idead doesn't mean I'm a biggot.

You didn't really express a displeasure in those specific characters before, so much as the fact that they're all black...

Massachusetts' team should be:

Josiah X: Team leader, both in the field and tactically. Though his political activism has ruffled feathers in the past, and Islam is a touchy subject wherever you go, Josiah has proven to be a skilled negotiator and public face for the team, even though he almost always has an ulterior motive. Joined the team on the sole condition that they would be allowed to deal with matters of urban crime and decay aswell as standard super heroics.

Battlestar: Urban warfare expert. Though arrested as an anti-reg, he was pardoned on the request of Josiah due to his knwoledge of gang warfare and considerable strength. Has single handedly brought down several street gangs duribg his tenure with the team.

Shamrock: Lost her powers on M-Day, though retained a knowledge of firearms and hand to hand combat she "picked up" by being raised by her Irish Nationalist father. Joined S.H.E.I.L.D. as a field agent shortly before Civil War. Though not an American citizen, she was asked to join the Massachusetts team to help with PR. Is officially the "co-leader," though she often refers to Josiah's judgement due to his greater experience.

Fixer: On the team as one of Zemo's many spies all over the country. Out of all the members, he has the most behavioral issues.

Superpro: Phil Grayfield, a reporter and nigh indestructible crimefighter. His cheesy name and flashy on camera anticts have made him a media darling. He often represents the team at charity events. Though not the most skilled or inteligent member of the team, he makes up for this by sheer courage.

Two-Gun Kid: There as the team's suporvisor and legal consultant.

Black Cat: The team's main stealth operative. Plus, I'm just rather fond of the character.

The team is based in a brownstone on Beacon Hill in Boston. While they engage in all the regular super heroics expected of them, they also take on organized crime and corruption in the inner city areas, making them one of the more controversial teams in the initiative. Haven't thought of a name yet.

well I dont like those characters. There. I'm not asking for all white teams but you guys are gung ho on an all black team, and honestly I just dont like the idea. plain and simple, dont like the characters dont like the idea.

It's called sarcasm :whatever:

Really guy get to know a fellow poster.

One thing you have to know about me and my posts: unless I make you say "wow, that's some deep s***", my comments are tongue-n-cheek.

I cant tell sarcasm on the internet, face to face I could, but not in this type of situation.

LuckyStrikes?

Lighting Rods? (This I really like, it plays on the controversial idea of the team you got going.)

Beantown Brawlers?

Exactly and it's getting to know your fellow SHH member. Me and Anubis or Question and Darthsphere we get each other it's second nature.

I'd go with Lightning Rods. It sounds controversial, but it also ties to New England history (yes, I know that New England is more than just Boston, and that Ben Franklin didn't discover how to harness electricity in Massechuesetts, but Boston is basically the Mecca of New England).

Also, as you may or may have not noticed, all of the characters are based on an aspect of Boston's history or culture.

Q what made you want to use Joshia X?

He's not Irish dammit!! only Irish!! Grrr..

I noticed Joshia X = Luis Farrakhan is from BeanTown, Shamrock =Duh? Blackcat = Brings to mind Salem Witches and superstition and such...Although Battlestar I have not a clue?

Q what made you want to use Joshia X?

1) I really like the character.

2) The fact that he's Islamic is supposed to represent Boston's cultural diversity, and I was partially inspired to use him because of Massechuesetts' 54th Civil War regiment. There's a statue comemorading it on Beacon Hill.

Black Cat: The various sub cultures, both sexual and artistic, found in Harvatd Square.

Battlestar: Streets gangs (though he lead a sort of "anti-gang," it sort of works) and the 54th regiment.

Two-Gun Kid: Harvard Collage (guy's a lawyer).

Fixer: MIT.

Superpro: Boston's proud athletics history.

I dig It! works the way you broke it down.

I'm not sure what villains they'd fight besides the expected crime lords and drug dealers. Maybe it would be cool to have a group of militant Islamics show up and start causing trouble, and Josiah proceeds to give them a physical and verbal ***** slapping.

Hey how about a Muslim sect of Hydra!!!?? It's Hydra they splinter into different factions all the time anyway.

Yeah, but Hydra is basically a Neo-Nazi organization. And as we all know, Nazis really hate blacks and semitics. Though, a militant Islamic branch of The Brotherhood might be doable.

That works better.

I think maybe Triantholon and a return of the Tri-une Understanding group could make for a interesting story juxstaposed next to Joshia X and the Nation of Islam.

I'm just snowballin' here Q.

Maybe. Not really seeing it, though.

Oh, I was just inspired. A friend of Josiah's back from his mercenary days shows up, now leading an Militant Islamic terrorist cell planning to blow up the state house.

See spitballing works! throw stuff against the wall and see what sticks.

I'll stick to Alpha Flight thank you very much. They seem to work fine for my country.

And as far as the racial card goes?

A) I'm like Stephen Colbert. Color blind. Race is not a factor.

and B) If Deemar says it's a good team i'll fight to support it, nail tooth and claw.

Same here V.

Hey Omega Flight or Alpha? What's your preference?
