We knew that Zingy, these are different actors though, the ones who appeared in Arrival weren't available, 1 is working on Heroes and the girl on some other show.

I think Raya gives them to Kal-EL

Raya must've had been imprsioned in The Phantom Zone on Krypton with her sword .

The Whole inside The Phantom Zone plot smallville is using, looks very much like the awful supergirl movie, Where a Kryptonian helps Kara escape back to Earth, While battling eneimes in the Phantom Zone without her powers .

He need some kind of protection from the blazing sun . since he doesn't have his powers he could burn up in the sunlight . Without any shade to protect him .
