Backgrounds are replaced.

There was quite a bit used. Less then an average blockbuster. But still a decent amount.

CGI isn't a bad thing. You shouldn't be offended over that fact.

I'm not. Im just letting you know that TDK is not "CGI heavy". That would be the Star Wars prequels, Transformers, etc.

and two face was on screen for very little of the movie. and it was only a very small bit of cgi. most of it was makeup.

I want you to look at the trouble Nolan went through to build life sized models of the Batwing to drive around through the cities they shot in. the cables and wires. the holes blown in real city streets.

All of this could have been done in cgi. But no he went the painstaking route. In the hot summer sun with all the fake snow. The paratroopers. The huge fight scenes and riots.

All of this could have been cgi but wasn't.

From what I can see, the football field collapsing maybe the only CGI-heavy shot in the whole movie and even that has considerable in-camera elements (the crowd was entirely real, along with the actual explosions they set off on the field)... and Bane's device, we don't even know if anything about it requires CGI. I love that about these films. The prologue being a stand-out example of an amazing aerial stunt with little CGI.

You're right. They said, no matter what they did with make up, it looked like they were adding to his face, not taking away. It's pretty much all CG.

How long is Two-Face on screen after the accident? Now how many of those shots are showing his two-faces?

TDK certainly uses more CGI than people think but it's not a CGI heavy film.

TDKR will have more CGI, the football field, the Batthing, the massive explosion, collapsing buildings all over and the little minor stuff Nolan uses it for.

Saw the prologue again in IMAX yesterday. The henchman that was beating the guy in the bodybag's chest definitely also stays on board the plane. That would make two mercenary's bodies being acounted for in the wreckage, when the CIA *****e apparently only called in one.

Really? I think you are mistaken, because the whole point of leaving someone behind is because there was only one of them on the manifest, it would actually be detrmental to their ninja efforts if there was an extra man aboard.

You're both right.

There's no shot that shows him going away, in fact you can see him cowering behind at some point, however I think when Bane is talking to "brother" is when we're supposed to believe he rappels out.

I wouldn't call it a plot hole but confusing editing.

I didn't mean it to come off as personal, and I may have given, I've had heated debates with another film major about it and I think he has a bad attitude, especially for wanting to be a director.

I feel bad for you man. In movies, no opinion is ever wrong. You may disagree of course, but they are never wrong. You have to prove they are wrong and nobody can ever prove it. You need facts to back that up. And there are none. Unless you can give them to me, I will change my mind and say you are right. You must understand when you call out someone being wrong, they must have facts to back up why they are wrong. When it comes to movies, there aren't any.

But you still haven't answered me man. You still haven't proved to me why someone would be wrong for liking a "bad" film like TF2.

No, I like TF, that doesn't make me wrong. I love tons of bad films; that doesn't make me wrong. What would make me wrong is if i said it was objectively a better film than godfather.

Maybe "wrong" was a bad term, "lacking in good film taste" is a better one.

Answer: "Yeah, I'm not sure what that's about, it is a little strange but, you could always take it is he's holding himself from being thrown out of the plane in that instant, until he has chance to be pulled out. Everything is moving so fast its hard to gauge how long this would all take but, I think you'd have to assume he gets out during Bane's talk with the other guy to stay."

haha, actually yeah. Unless somewhere in the film they say that another unknown body was found we have to assume it went according to Bane's plan

This was posted in the Selina Kyle thread, but instead of going off topic there I wanted to post it here and add my thoughts.
RE: Pavel's blood being transferred to the dead body.

I have my theory about it... I Think is because, is clear that the body which received the blood of Pavel was almost dead and they needed to leave a body similar to Pavel WITH PAVEL BLOOD (DNA) inside the plane before the crash, in order to confuse the CIA making them think Pavel didn't survive the "accident". Same situation with the "voluntary" bane's henchmen left in the plane.

The CIA will think it was an accident, with All CIA personnel, Pavel, and hostage taken with them dead. The only question I have, how they will cover the shots when they assault the plane and killed all CIA agents?. Will have to wait till July.

IN NOLAN I TRUST.

Now I know this has been discussed, but wanted to participate a little.
I agree it is an attempt to fool the CIA that Pavel is really dead. And it works. But during the film Bruce wants to know the whys and hows of Bane's device. After some digging he learns that Pavel could have designed/built such a device, but is presumed dead. After more investigating Bruce not only discovers that Pavel is alive and being used by Bane, but also that the CIA paid $3 million to Bane, essentially they funded his terrorist activities.
