The Dark Knight Rises 6 Minutes of TDKR footage attached to Mission Impossible 4! - - - - Part 13

also the mask doesnt muffle his voice.. he has a microphone inside the mask.. you can see the cord at his neck in several shots .

What your seeing isn't mic cords. It's the tubing for his mask, for what ever its pumping.

It almost sounded as if his voice was being played backwards, but it wasn't. It was just a really strong voice effect, covered by loud plane engines. When Bane tells the lacky that he has to stay behind, I seriously thought he threw some Irish saying at him or something. :/

The effect I heard (yes, in person at the IMAX) is not as present in the trailer IMHO. And quite frankly, I'm relieved.

It's amazing how many different accents people heard in Bane's voice in that prologue. Can now add Irish to the list.

I think the mix of accents (that people have heard) matches Bane being a mercenary - having travelled the world.

Not really. After watching the prologue and trailer in HD, it just sounds like Tom Hardy.

I still say it sounds just like Simon Gruber

I hear West German with British being the anchor, in the prologue.

British (or even South African) with a hint of Russian in the trailer.

Yeah, pretty much a mix. Really suits him as a mercenary-type character.

To me it sounds like Hardy with a muffled darth vader kinda voice effect.. but I like it. The voice, the mask and just the hulking presence of Bane is threatening and intimidating to me.

now if only there was a HD prologue availble for me to watch 100's somewhere...

I don't really hear any accent beyond a British one. I have think his lines could be delivered with his teeth held together, which may add to the effect. At least that helped when I tried to do the voice, that and my nasty cold.

I love his voice. TEN times better than Bale's Tom Waitts "IM NOT WEARING HOCKEY PADS" growl with your fingers pinching your nostrils voice.

I was thinking this too. To be honest, and I know people are gonna want to kick me for this... but most of the time it felt like I was just hearing Eames with a synthesized voice and more menace.

Really? That's interesting, I really don't hear Hardy in Bane.
It was mostly in that line where he first speaks to the CIA *****e about "shoot[ing] a man before throwing him out of a plane." The funny thing is literally the first half to me sounds like Hardy, whereas the next half sounded like a unique iteration of Vader's voice which was barerly recognizable as him.

Cool. I like the voice but I will admit I can see it putting some people off. it has a quality that can be heard as silly or comical at points.

I think the prologue is a nice introduction but I have a suspicion that it's just the top of the iceberg for the character.

One thing Ive noticed watching the prologue and trailer is that I don't really see movement behind Banes mask when he talks, like he isnt really talking and maybe some of his dialogue was done as a voice over after scenes were shot... Anyone else notice this?

no, he's talking, the mask is just really restrictive.

Seconded. I did the same with The bank scene in TDK and by the time I saw it on the screen I swear I could've recited the f**king dialogue in my sleep.

Same here. :woot:

Me too! Especially when he says "shoot a man" - that felt so Eames/Hardy to me.

I saw it for the second time last night, and my friends had a really hard time understanding what Bane was saying. The only lines I think everyone understood clearly were "It would be extremely painful, for you" and "Crashing this plane. With no survivors".

Nevertheless, some people clapped at the end of it, and as I was walking out I heard people discussing whether Batman dies or not.

It's a good time to be a Bat-Fan.

Personally if I was someone who didnt know much about this movie I probably wouldnt even recognize Hardy as Bane

I think the reason why some people have a hard time understanding Bane is because the way he delivers his lines and his thick accent. Its not because of the muffled sound
