The Dark Knight Rises 6 Minutes of TDKR footage attached to Mission Impossible 4! - - - - Part 13

Honestly the Gordon part was my favorite part of the prologue. the rest was kind of just OK, except for the pure spectacle of the whole plane battle.

i love the prologue dearly.. but whats really awesome imo is that heavy drum solo which kicks in 2 times i think after a "beat" by bane... sounds so cool :)

I love how the prologue shows you how tactical Bane and his men are, its chaos, but organized chaos.

I honestly think, for the most part, TDK imax prologue was a bit better (aka. used the screen real estate better). Aside from the aerial shots of the plane and what not, most of the scenes were claustrophobic, tight spaces, and close ups of people... Unlike the TDK opening, that took place in a big bank hall and/or on rooftops/city scopes. but either way i liked both.

and ya, regarding Gordon at the beginning, that is very appropriate as it shows it is very linked to what The Dark Knight set up for the franchise. it also sets a dark opening theme and that something big is coming.

and it's also potentially foreshadowing... "it will be a long time before someone else inspires us the way he did...".. could that person, who inspires gotham after a long time (8 years), be Batman/Bruce wayne!!!!

I think everyone (including me) walked in to TDKR prologue comparing it to TDK, when we should have kind of taken it as it was, for what it was, which was awesome... Right?

Awesome us an understatement in my opinion. I loved it. My two friends who I saw it with when mssion impossible ended only talked about the prologue lol. It had a great impact.

Ah, yes you are def right!

Wow!!!!

You could be a rocket scientist! I mean....it is after all....Batman...the protagonist....that ultimately inspires Gothamites? gasp!!!!

Haha. Honestly, I think obviously it's gonna go back to Batman at the end, but I also think it has a dual-meaning in how Bane is going to defame and fill the 'void' of Dent, rallying Gotham against the wealthy. Hence it cutting to him.

agreed i like that, makes bane and the movie feel different to the joker's chaos in the dark knight

Finally saw this. Boy, am I glad I didn't pay money and wait in line for hours to see it.

Just not feeling it. The TDK prologue is light years better.

The music is pretty good. The overall concept is fine. The execution is not, and bordering on cheesy. The CIA guy is awful. Just awful. Bane's reveal is a little boring, frankly, and anticlimactic. Everything else just isn't executed all that well. The action, which has been highly touted, I'm just not impressed with. There's nothing breaktaking going on here. What's happening with the plane is kind of cool, but it all looks awkward. They're trying to show tactics, but the way its edited just makes it seem kind of boring and routine. Even Bane moves with little sense of purpose, and seems to be just standing in place, randomly moving around and attaching himself to things. The whole sequence looks like a leftover scene from a 70's Bond movie or something. And Bane exiting the plane with Dr. Pavel is shades of the security guard from BATMAN FOREVER, with his annoying screaming. The clips at the end...nothing to get excited about, even before the trailer.

My feelings are the complete opposite.

I thought it was much better than TDK's prologue (it was still a really good intro tho).

For me TDK prologue wins, TDKR prologue is still great though. In fact that's my expectations as a whole for TDKR, for it to be great while not as fantastic as TDK.

Wow, I couldn't disagree more with this post. For me, the TDKR prologue was light years ahead of TDKs.

Exactly.

I'm in the middle to be honest.

I mean, which is more original; the Bank Heist or Plane Highjacking? I think TDKR takes it for originality. They both are at a tie for overall excecution.... but in the end, I think I'll side with TDK Prologue. It's not just a bank heist, it's the GREATEST and more BRILLIANT bank heist I've ever seen. Perfectly thought out and according to plan, and it left really no room for error.

TDKR you naturally get the same feeling, and I loved the score a tiny bit more in it because of the Chanting; Zimmer really created something special....... the chanting naturally gives off the presence of Bane as does John Williams does with the Shark in Jaws. Very very VERY captivating to listen to. But once again, in the end I feel that TDK brought just a bigger punch to the screen with Heath Ledger's Joker plotting the death of every single minion he had working for him and getting away with everything scott free. :hrt:

I really can't stress how those two openings are very different. they're not meant to do the same thing in the same way.

People keep going on about the CIA Guy's performance... was it really much worse than the Joker's goons in the Bank Heist? I honestly never thought much of them at all, not that either bothered me.

That's not the question. The CIA guy was supposed to be that way. That's so painstakingly clear.

We're supposed to be a little happy he dies
