Good episode.

I wonder were Kara will be hiding.

1 hr 10 min

4 hr 10 min for Avid. (Sorry, couldn't resist) :oldrazz:

:oldrazz:

f@#$ing tornadoes....

Dammit...

I swear I hate my local weather people.

Damn their eyes...

You poor guy. That would suck so bad, but I have to LOL at the amount of times you've posted how pissed off you are. :woot:

BIG ISSUE I had with tonight's episode was the killing thing. I know Clark didnt kill Knox, because you cant, but he didnt know that at the time and when he saved Lex by knocking Knox into the transformer, he thought he actually had killed him as shown by his comments later that he was "sick that he had to kill someone to save you."

I didnt like that either. I think they were just going for the response from Lex that Knox cant be killed, but they could have put that altogether much better.

It single-handedly brought the episode down a notch for me. Someone give me a time check on it, but I could've sworn it was over 4 minutes long.

I agree, I thought it was pretty poor too.

Oh, I'm glad you guys agree. The only good thing is that its right at the end of the episode, so we can stop watching it at that point on the replay.

It was WAY too dragged out, but I still felt bad for Jimmy.

I started to feel sorry for him, but because the scene dragged on so long, I got over it pretty quickly.

That box of stuff he got together to show her why they belong together was so sweet. At first she seemed really excited and into it, but then she just shot him down. I thought that was kind of odd. You'd think she'd avoid looking at those things knowing that she was about to break it off with him.

But was that her plan, to break up with him. She said her life with him would never be normal, and she couldnt tell him why. His response was I cant do this any more.

So true. But I honestly zoned out on that scene at about the 15 minute mark. ;)

you know even though most of the time I'm annoyed by Chloe and that break up scene was way too long, Allison did a pretty good job in that scene. Her crying looked pretty real. I'll give her props for that.

Great great episode...

MM vs Kara simply because of Zor-El. Clark will probably stay neutral.

Dean Cain, I need not to say more. With all the references it is hard for me to believe he is NOT Vandal Savage.

actually my favorite line is.. Clark to Knox - "We are more alike than you think." :woot:

Loved the Martian Manhunter reference!

It seems like it is going to be a depressed season for Chloe...

Lana spying on Lex? WTF? Didn't see that coming...

Did I mention I love Kara?

Good ep.
I don't think I'm as enthused as some of you about it, but I have to admit, Dean Cain impressed me. I wasn't expecting much out of him for some reason, but he really did a great job.
Dean was great. I was glad to hear Gough in the TV Guide interview leave the option open to bring him back.

Lana - *sigh*

I'm not thrilled with this "dark Lana" crap either but I think that whole subplot will be over after Wrath.

The Lana at the farmhouse is all sweetness and light but the Lana behind Clark's back is tough and dark. What gives? I don't want to think that she would be that conniving and deceptive. But I don't want to think its not the real Lana either. She out and out lied to Clark so, if this is the way they are going, no way will it be Clark messing things up this time.

Clark acted in a split second to stop Knox from killing Lex. I don't think Clark could have known there was a transformer there that Knox was going to land on. It clearly seemed like an accidental death that resulted from Clark trying to save Lex's life.

That's the way I saw it, too.

I'm suspicious of MM now. Is that really MM? I just don't think it makes sense that he'd be at such diametric odds with Kara. One of them seems to be lying, and I don't think it's Clark's possiblespin-off cousin.

Maybe Kara just doesn't understand her father was the bad guy. From those spoiler pics in "Lara" he certainly looked the part to me.

How boring was that Jimmy and Chloe break-up? Jeeze, they couldnt have dragged it out any more if they tried.

It might have been a little long but I actually liked that scene. I felt so sad for Chloe and Jimmy. I don't think she sat down thinking she'd break up with Jimmy but when he said "promise me we'll be normal from here on out" her face showed so much pain/sadness and Jimmy was reading her all wrong and responding to his feelings of being left out of the loop so often about Clark and now this. I just thought both acted it out very well. Chloe has always been the one with the wise quips and fast talk and to see this side of her was a treat to me.

BTW, they had a plug tonight for this episode on EXTRA in which they had split screens with Dean's character and Clark side by side and the sound bite was "Superman meets Superman in tonight's episode of Smallville."

You guys are probably right. I'll have to pay better attention in the rewatch.

Allison was really good in that scene.

both have had the tale manipulated i bet. Kara has had the truth spun by her father and MM has had it spun by jor-el with all the bias that comes with it. This would automatically put them at odds. I suspect MM's involvement with kara's family was at jor-el's request.

Yeah. I guess venting on a message board is probably the best way to handle my disappointment...glad you liked it.

Still sad though...so here's another frowny face...:csad:

They need to spin off the Martian Manhunter into his own show.

The Galaxy Bounty Hunter

It could be a prequel

Better episode than last week, for sure, but it still felt...a little all over the place. Much going on, and wanting to focus on so much. But still some good stuff.

I liked the newly-revealed rift between J'onn and Kara, and I LOVED the Martian Manhunter reference. Well-placed, well-delivered. I also loved Lana's reaction to her introduction to J'onn. No, he's not Kryptonian, sweetie. Martian. Uh-huh.

As Lana and Clark seem FINALLY so comfortable with one another, it's very interesting to see Chloe now experiencing exactly what Clark has for so many years (even though I think she's rather silly for not being honest with Jimmy, but, ah well...a show's gotta have its drama...).

Lex felt like he was kinda-sorta there in this ep, and Dean Cain was nice (on the eyes!). The delivery of his line after Lex shoots him was...fantastic. Loved it.

I gotta say, the show's doing a good job of getting me REALLY interested in the real story with Kara...why shouldn't Clark trust her? What's she hiding? What's the deal with the crystal? I'm glad to know the search for the crystal won't last the ENTIRE season. I hate when they take something small and stretch it too far across the season.

Lana...can't wait to see what you're up to.

I think this was an okay episode. I really enjoyed Dean Cain. He did an awesome job with his character.

Did anyone else feel like the groundwork is already set for Clark to start questioning Lana's character? His reaction to her after he confronted her about the $10 million seemed like he truly believes Lex over her. I was a little surprised, but I'm glad he's able to start reading people better when they are lying.

And my heart broke for Chloe and Jimmy. He really adores her and she just pushed him away. It was a good continuity scene reminiscent of the season 2 opener (can't remember the episode name) when she pushed the possiblity of dating Clark away. But, I really don't understand why she can't tell Jimmy about her meteor power. I know they established in Fierce that Jimmy wants to hunt them all down for whatever reason, but does she truly believe Jimmy of all people would expose her or harm her? I personally think it would have been a better storyline if the writers showed Chloe confiding in Jimmy and showing us (the viewers) that she has learned from her friendship with Clark about trusting in the people you love. I just don't like the obvious parallel they are trying to show with her new power and Clark's secret. We've been there for 6+ years with Clark. I don't really think it's necessary to reinforce the "hiding secerts" agenda again.

man this episode was confusing as hell for those who havent seen previous seasons. I didnt know what the heck was going on

I thought that the episode was pretty good, Dean Cain did a better job than I expected & the best scene was when DC was shot by Lex.

So I was wondering did Clark pay for that Mayple Syrup or did he just swipe it off the shelf in the store.

;)

Hello guys new here.

MM and Kara at odds was interesting and strange. Regarding Clark and Kara's dads, I get a Cain and Abel vibe there.

I did not get Kara coming onto Jimmy though. Her main focus should be to first get that krystal and then try and adjust to life on Earth since Krypton is no longer there.

Evil Lana makes sense with all of the times she has been exposed to evil such as being possessed by an evil witch and turned into a vampire. Also, her explosure to Lex and how showed glimpses of being evil earlier on.

Nice show.

BTW, I am having a hard time creating a thread, is that possible here or no.

I was wondering the same thing!

(That was one of the two scenes I got to see before the f@#$ing tornadoes came and the stupid, f@#$ing local weather people cut in to ruin my show...FYI)

You can now, you have to have 5 posts before you can make a thread

Thought it was a great episode overall.
Opened up some interesting plot points with MM and Kara being at odds.
Felt bad for Jimmy and Chloe but having seen the Kara Jimmy kiss from a later episode I knew it was coming so it was less of a shock.

Vandal Savage???

I'm pretty sure Knox was Vandal Savage. The line that sold me was Lex's "He's had many names over the years." Maybe one of those names was "Savage"?

Was I the only person who expected Knox's comatose wife/lover to grow old and skeletonize after she died? Genre mentality and creepy horror assumption strikes again. LOL

The problem, though, was that Knox said that she was perfectly healthy. She's someone he must have met recently and decided he wanted her to live forever. That's why he was keeping all of those organs in jars. He was going to replace all her vitals and give her immortality. The twisted thing is that she probably had no idea, and that's why he placed her in a coma.

a decent episode it had some issues though.

2) He freaking tells Lex about it, which immediately raises the questions of "how the hell did he save me from a guy that I just put 3 bullets in and he laughed at me?"

That little bit "killed" a good part of the episode for me.

Totally agreed. I don't know why Clark admitted to Lex that he saved him though. That's what I didn't get. Way to out yourself there, Clark!

Here's my nitpick of the day! Jimmy mentioned that "weird earthquake last fall". I know that Jimmy wasn't officially intro'd until the beginning of Season 6, but "Dark Thursday", in the timeline of the SV-verse, happened in May. So technically, the end of the world wasn't in the fall.

So I was wondering did Clark pay for that Mayple Syrup or did he just swipe it off the shelf in the store.

;)

Probably. I'm sure he left money on the counter. I love that he went all the way to Vermont to get the syrup. Nice touch!

The thing about Knox, that is maybe too obvious, is that he's insane. Genius, but insane. I'm showing my Highlander fannish roots here and applying crossover logic, but living for centuries and seeing everyone you know and love die, does not for great mental health make, ya know. ;)

LOL.. I'm impressed with that one, Raku. Laughing, but impressed. :D

THANK YOU! That's what I thought too when people started commenting on it (granted, jokingly). I'm sure our true blue boyscout left a 10-spot on the counter.

Well the fact he admitted to being Jack the ripper didn't give me a warm fuzzy that he hasn't always been insane :oldrazz:

To quote Dr Smith from the lost in space movie evil knows evil or in my case crazy knows crazy :wow:

That Jack the Ripper line, while he had that knife in hand, was GREAT.

Dr. Smith? LOL... talk about getting in the wayback machine.

I had such a crush on Will Robinson. :O
