7.16 - Descent - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Hopefully Chloe dies at some point soon. Shes lived out her usefulness bigtime.

Her appearance in that last scene of Veritas ruined it.

with Lana all messed up, and Kara in space, Clark needs her now more then ever, Chloe is pretty much all he has left now in smallville and metropolis to confide in.

And at the same time, Clark needs to start to learn to function indepedant of her.

Of course, given the upcoming crisis, the person he NEEDS to turn to now is Jor-El.

Boy do These Pictures sure show it . Clark looks really Pissed-Off & Lex looks like he doesn't give a damn What Clark thinks . He's happy he's finally gotten ready of his Old Man once and for all .

Nice promos!
I don't suppose anyone has larger photos of these. Gettin' harder to get them these days! :csad:

IMO that happened the moment Lois Lane arrived in SMALLVILLE .

I agree! and we have already seen that kara is more than adequate with a computer and probably better than chloe. TBH in this season the only things i remember her doing is being a freak, trying to get cured and begging jor-el for clark. True i remember even less when it comes to lois but they fulfil the same function so why not use the time wasted on chloe for lois who is undeniably more important for the 'big picture'

"Descent" looks very promising, but waiting another 3 weeks will be a huge pain in the ass. With the writers' strike and all, the season's been cut down to a 20-episode total, and reruns have been way too frequent as a result of the whole mess. It's insanity, plain and simple.

As for Lionel dying, it definitely sounds possible, especially judging from the trailer at the end of "Veritas". If it does happen that way, then I hope the creators treat it with dignity, like they did for Jonathan Kent's funeral in "Reckoning". Lionel was definitely an evil man for a long time, but his recent quest for redemption warrants a modicum of respect, in my opinion.

Sad to hear that Kristin bailed on the last few Season 7 episodes, but I hope they can make decent arrangements with Allison & Michael; the show wouldn't be the same otherwise. :)

Lionel...splattered all over the pavement..

I guess it won't be an open casket service.

But then there wouldnt be the double meaning that describes Lionel's descent from the window to the pavement.

If this is Lionel's funeral (which it probably is) why isn't he being buried in the "family" cemetery?

Remember (Season 3) when Lex was presumed dead he was going to have a marker there... and then he later asked Lionel if his grandparents were actually buried there. He said yes.

So where is Lex putting daddy dearest?!

I just hope that Clark learns something from his rush to judgement with Lana and Lionel... and probably Jor-El.

I liked the multigenerational cast. It sucks that they have now gotten rid of Johnathan, Martha and Lionel. :(

Rush to judgement? After all that Lionel and "Jor-El" have done to Clark, I think it's terribly unfair to accuse Clark of any "rush to judgement". Both Lionel and "Jor-El" are murderers and both have hurt, tortured and betrayed Clark in many different ways. Why should he trust any of them?

Clark seems to be always at fault, whatever his choices, and there seems to be always a double standard when it comes to judging him. The boy can't win, can he?

it was cheesey but still cool. The fire behind Lex as he does his fashion walk. lol

THE DAY CLARK AND LEX BECAME MORTAL ENEMIES — The secret of Veritas leads Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) in a dangerous direction that will put Clark (Tom Welling) and Lex in each others’ crosshairs. There is a major power struggle and one character dies.
