6.19 Nemesis - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

my only comment about this episode, is that Lana, shot the locks off of Lex's brief case, on a glass desk. Did anyone notice that? Is that even possible? I'm pretty sure that the desk would have shattered.

Exactly what hubby said when we watched it...

Actually, that is what I have a far bigger problem with... there was just so much kryptonite.

How did such a huge amount get so far underground?

I thought that if maybe if the tunnel system wasn't old, they might have used meteor infected fill dirt when constructing the tunnels but that complex of tunnels looked old... Far too old to explain it that way.

*shrug*

I'm going to mention it in my review, actually...

About the whole kryptonite dust affecting Clark, i'm not sure if this has been brought up yet but avid SV viewers will remember in the Season 2 episode "Fever" Clark after being affected by kryptonite dust loss his power and was severally drained of energy.

It wasn't actual Kryptonite dust because Clark just coughed when he first breathed it. He wasn't weakened right away and seemingly looked fine. Helen Bryce called it a toxin, which also infected Martha. The dust/toxin was obviously affected by Kryptonite - it was green so that's a dead giveaway - but it wasn't Kryptonite because Clark would have reacted immediately.

I wonder with next year being Lexs last year in Smallville & if it goes Season 8 will Lex & Clark be on good terms ? Why else would Lex randomly come to Smallville

Your post is very illogical.

Excellent episode, one of my favourites from this season. The Clark/Lex interection was awesome with top notch performances from both guys.
Kirsten was really creepy in this episode. She's really playing Lex now. Good for her...lol
She really changed so much that if she can go M.I.A. for a while and then come back fresh will only do her character good...
I wonder what is the great danger that Lionel is protecting Clark from ? I still think in the end Lionel will die protecting Clark's secret and Lex will blame him for it and it will be Lionel not Lana the final nail in the coffin of their friendship...

They were kryptonite tainted spores of some kind, some kind of fungus or mold spores I would imagine.

I believe they explained it in the episode but it's been awhile since I've seen Fever...

That's how I understood that episode as well.

With regards to this episode and the kryptonite, I just think Clark possesses that all human attribute known as adrenalin. How does that differ from what happened in Progeny? In Progeny he had a huge chunk of kryptonite placed right on him, whereas in this episode it was just lying near by.

oh no we are getting into continuity of kryponite effects, this may take a while :D

ROFLMAO @ you three

always backin each other up, tryin to make this show look better than it is

I think all three of the above posters that you've insulted have had no problem admitting and even laughing about the occasional continuity errors in this show.

They are also they type of viewers that actually watch and comprehend the show, unlike so many that I see spouting off about stuff when the reality is, they simply didn't "get it."

Well, I actually am reaming them for that in my review, you'll see when it comes out, but it didn't really affect my opinion of the episode in a negative way. It might make it four and a half instead of a five, but I enjoyed it so much I'll probably give it a five.

And I don't understand how, just because I explained what had been done in Fever, that I've suddenly become an apologist for the show?

WTF?

Yeah, I love the show still, the inconsistancies, contrivances and all. That shouldn't surprise you, you've been around here awile, but I hardly give them a free pass when they screw up. I'm no apologist.

Quoted for truth.

I don't really care about the continuity error with the kryptonite... but I gotta say, that I whole heartedly agree with your statement

but I'm not meaning to bash anyone... you guys know my opinion differs from yours, but I'm still a loyal fan. But I do find truth to BS's statement.

Yeah well, my post was a little tongue in cheek anyway, because everyone knows the kryptonite plot is inconsistent, so you can then fanwank it anyway you like.

But the bottom line for me on stuff like kryptonite is, that I dont really care how they use it because its a fictional substance that they can do whatever they like with.

And I'm tired of people hanging around in these forums only to comment on other posters rather than offering their own opinions on a particular subject.

That's what trolls do, Avid. :o

Put 'em on ignore and lets talk about the show. :)

This just Cracks. Me. UP!!!!

Take a guess where they shot this scene:

Yup, in their OWN freakin' parking lot:

So much for location managers, eh? :p LOLOL!!!!

That pic is a few years old and the shrubs have grown a bit behind the fence, but that's it. I've watched the scene a few times. Too funny, huh?

But hey, the set decorators/prop people were on the ball. Note the license plates. Even though they barely read on camera, they're accurate...

Well, hey, if it works, it works!

I love Martha in the first still.

"Abwaaaaah??"

What happened during the last half hour of Smallville on the 4/26 ep???

...I fell asleep.

Good advice.

Yeah, I picked that up too from my trip last year. The whole outside of the tunnels scene, with Chloe, Clark and the rescue workers, was also the backlot. You could see the outside of the Talon in the background. :woot:

Shooting just outside the SV stage saves A LOT of money, I can tell you. :)
