Nobody can be faulted for having an ambition and despite it being a Oscar bait role Redmayne gave a very good performance. Still it just rubbed me the wrong away IMO.
Wonder if Redmayne will maintain his contact with Hawking or simply forget the guy...

Lol, I think the question is reversed. I wonder if Hawking will just forget about Redmayne.

Hawking is one of the most famous scientists in the world, and is so far above the entire film industry, I hardly think he himself will give two ****s about this movie three months from now.

I will say, for as much as the Oscars get made fun of for awarding actors who played the handicapped or portray diseases, it was still a nice moment to see Juliane Moore and Redmayne use their speeches to at least attempt to raise awareness. Although ALS had plenty last year with the Ice Bucket challenge.
