87th Annual Academy Awards (2015) - Part 2

There's something unsettling about the man. I just can't put my finger on it.

It is never not out of fashion. All of us care about something even if we dont show it to people.

That is like your opinion. I would care, but yeah like it's too mainstream so I don't. But I bet you never heard of it. :o

Redmayne played Juliane Moore's son in a movie years ago

Martin Scorcese was the clear cut best director that year and while yes he should have won for Casino or Goodfellas he didn't win in 2006 because of his body of work he won because he was the best that year.

Bridges Won in a year that eh was the best in too, sure he had been nominated 4 times prior but I don't think the academy just gave it to him based on his body of work otherwise Leo would have his by now.

Stop it

Steve Carrell was repping the ladies on Oscar night it seems, and Emma Watson noticed.

Very sweet. :atp:

Carell had one of my favorite moments of the night.

"Edward Norton. He's right over there!"

THE MAN SAID "STOP", HUSH!!!!! :argh:

:o

Patricia Arquette's speech still getting a lot of press...

Im glad she won I thought she really deserved it and I agree with what she was saying. im still trying to grasp the controversy of what she said backstage

All of those actors wanted to win. Keaton isn't a careerist actor but you can bet your ass he wanted to win just as much as the rest of them.
In fact, there is video out there of Keaton starting to take his speech out before Redmaynes
name was announced.

All this talk about Birdman and Keaton but I thought the awards for Whiplash would give it some much-deserved attention. Nothing against Birdman or anything (heck I liked it a lot) but I liked Whiplash a lot more, and it's out on disc this week too. Everyone should see it! :)

Btw, just realized that Whiplash has J Jonah Jameson, Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic 2015, and Supergirl. :p

IMO, Gyllenhaal, Teller, and Fiennes deserve Best Actor nods and I don't even care who they take out from the ones who were eventually nominated.

^ Yeah I don't know how Jake Gyllenhaal wasn't nominated—out of all the movies I saw last year his performance was BY FAR the most memorable. Holy crap he was just amazing in Nightcrawler.

And Fiennes was an absolute comedic riot in The Grand Budapest Hotel. Easily my favorite performance from him so far.

Says on ABC News that somebody stole the pearl-covered dress Lupita Nyong'o wore to the Oscars from her hotel room.

Whiplash was excellent, and would have been my choice for BP is Birdman didn't exist. (Or maybe Birdman didn't exist!)

I think Birdman gets the edge because it has a larger ensemble cast which, if handled correctly, provides for a much more ambitious story. Birdman is also a dialogue heavy movie, which normally I don't love, but is so well written that it is much a writer's movie as it is a director's and actor's movie.

By far I thought these three were more engaging than four out of five of the nominees. They all gave such incredible performances.

You can't make this up.... :lmao:

Lupita Nyong'o Dress Returned To Scene of the Crime!

Lupita Nyong'o's Oscar gown was returned to The London West Hollywood Friday afternoon where it was taken 2 days earlier ... and the thief called TMZ to tell us where it could be found.

A guy called us at around 2:30 PM Friday and said he had taken the dress from Lupita's hotel room after he noticed the door was ajar. He said he and others took 2 pearls off of the dress and took them to the garment district in downtown L.A. ... where we're told they weren't real.

The thief says he decided to take the dress back to the London in a garment bag that was inside a trash bag that he deposited in a 2nd floor bathroom adjacent to a fitness center.

We contacted the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. and gave them the info. They went over to the hotel and retrieved the bag and they found a garment bag with the dress inside.

Law enforcement says they were told the Calvin Klein dress was worth $150K, but the thief says it's almost worthless.

The thief told us he returned the bag and called us because he wanted the world to know "Hollywood's fake bulls***."
