Confession: IMO Liev Schreiber was the MVP of Spotlight :ninja:

He's just jelly because he'll never accomplish anything even a fraction of a percentage as great as what Quentin's put out.

Yeah he was pretty damn good but my problem with Spotlight is that it has a shared screentime with the main stars. No one really stood out since everyone was on top of their game.

With the NFL as protective of their image in Hollywood as is, I am surprised that they didn't prevent Concussion from being made.

Good for Will Smith and Idris Elba. If either are not nominated for an Oscar, it will be a travesty. Elba was fantastic in Beasts of No Nation. I hear Smith is awesome in Concussion.
The film itself has been indifferently received, which will probably hinder Smith's chances.

The American Film Institute's Top 10 Films of the 2015 are as follows:

“The Big Short”
“Bridge of Spies”
“Carol”
“Inside Out”
“Mad Max: Fury Road”
“The Martian”
“Room”
“Spotlight”
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”
“Straight Outta Compton”

Just seeing the trailer for Room I want to give it all my money.

So Bridge of Spies was actually good and not the most boring movie ever, like it appeared to be?

Yes, Bridge of Spies is a good movie. I mean it's a Hanks/Spielberg collaboration dude.

Yeah that sh** was great.

And I should be seeing Room tonight.

But I think we all know which film with "Room" in the title you'd rather be watching...

You know me all too well Sawyer...

Why is Brooklyn constantly being overlooked?

Saoirse Ronan isn't being overlooked. I;d say she's a cert for Best Actress nomination at the Oscars.

So I just watched Room...

Yeah, Brie Larson got this one in the bag. And I have to say...I wouldn't be surprised if that little kid beat Leo for the Oscar.

My feelings exactly.

Why is Brooklyn constantly being overlooked?

It wasn't eligible due to being a foreign production.

He's campaigned as a supporting role so if he gets a nomination he won't be in the same category as Leo.

I know, but sure, kill my joke...

Suprised by the lack of The Revenent or The Hateful 8. But if these were the Acadamy's nominations, I'd be pretty happy.

They may well be, except Revenent may replace Straight Outta Compton and Brooklyn may replace Martian or Inside Out.

Hand the kid the Oscar for the Room. He was the lead and out acted everyone in the film. Phenomenal work. Got to see the other films, but so far it's the best performance I've seen this year.

Saw Brooklyn yesterday... it was probably the most innocent and genuine film of 2015.

Saoirse Ronan was great in it.
