9.21 - Hostage - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

I doubt Perry knows about Clark. Otherwise, he would probably try to cover up Lois' picture. As long as they don't ruin Martha, I'll be fine with the storyline. But if it turns out that she was "secretly" in this government mess even while being married to Jonathan, hell will break loose!

great lois and perry clip. Erica and michael seem to have great on screen chemistry too. also it was great to learn where checkmate's castle was being in the rockies. i was glad we were told too cause that was what i was wondering in checkmate myself. Cant wait to see how the episode turns out.

yea great first part of interview. cant wait to see whats in the second part. Mckean and annette had some great things to say.

Here's a Hostage Spoiler from Ask Ausiello

Question: Any good news for Clark/Lois fans on Smallville? —David
Ausiello:
Not in this Friday’s episode, since, well, they kind of hit a rough patch — an inevitable consequence of “the boiler pressure that both of them are under,” says exec producer Kelly Souders. “Lois is struggling — unbeknownst to her — between Clark and The Blur. And [we]… see what the lie that Clark’s had to protect has done to Lois.”

Did that first article link just confirm that

Martha was the Red Queen?

One question said she is playing a senator and a gov't operative, which she didn't correct. The very next was a direct question about it that she wouldn't answer...but still kinda sounds like it to me.

I think it was pretty plainly, and amusingly, obvious from the "Hostage" promo that Martha is... well, you know who.

Fun to know that those were her legs! Hot damn. ;)

Wow, Annette and Michael are actually pretty funny in interviews.

So that takes care of that, I knew it. Also, figured those were her real legs---something about the skin tone.

Curious...anyone disappointed that it in fact turns out to be Martha?

well thats cool to hear they did have her for that scene it most have been shot during hostage filming and added in later for charade.

wtf???? What is the Book of Rao and when did they ever introduce that this season????

Alright. It's great to see Annette again, but I'm not feeling Lois/Clark thus far.

Ever since "Disciple" onwards for the second half of the season, the Lois/Clark relationship has felt nothing like the traditional iconic one from the comics/mythos, and more just like a standard CW drama relationship; virtually unregonizeable from the standard Superman characterization, and more tweaked to appeal to 'shippers'.

All of that is pretty much culminating here. So, I'm really hoping this breakup lasts till Superman shows up, it may set things to the way they should be with Lois/Clark at this point.

The stuff with Lois and Perry seems fun so far though.

Damn Vala, pick a side and stick to it. Looks like everyones after the Book of Deus Ex Machina.

LOL Perry, always finding himself in dangerous situations. Nice saves by both Clark & Lois.

Some great action there.
