Thats my predictions as well. Im prepared to be bored, this Award Season had to end 2 months ago. Sooo long season with a weak line up is not a good combination.

Figures Daniel would take that.

So glad Daniel won, though hardly a surprise.

Oooh, West Side Story trailer.

Why did they tried everything to make this ceremony more boring? Endless introductions, no performance clips, no speech limit. The location looks more cheap then the Golden Globes.

It's basically in an atrium, they don't wanna come off as extravagant obviously after this past year.

I actually like the location. Reminds me of the early ceremonies.

But yeah all the talking is boring. Like why have Laura Dern give her personal experiences with the performances when they could just show clips of the performances??? We need more clips!

Can you imagine the endless introduction for all the shorts

Wow, I literally had no idea the Oscars were tonight.

I haven't seen a single ad for the Oscars and have no idea what movies or actors are even nominated this year.

No interest at all since I think I saw maybe 2 movies in the theaters this year during the brief window they were allowed to open, but they have been closed again since just after The New Mutants was released.:whatever:

I haven't seen any of the new releases since I am not willing to pay the $25 to $35 they are asking, or even the $6.99 after they have been out a while. I'll finally see WW 1984 in a few weeks since it will be free on Crave.

I can't wait to see the ratings for the Oscars, will they hit a new all time low?

I mean, a significant portion of the nominated films are available for free on streaming platforms. I've actually seen more of the line-up this year than usual because of that. The Father and Promising Young Woman are really the only ones out of reach.

I know lulu Wang was robbed last year

I just turned it on for a few minutes. I haven't bothered to see where it is but my first impression is it looks like it's being held in a casino showroom.

Interesting that I only see a smattering of masks in the crowd.

Already sick of what I'm seeing, I'll check out the awards summary when it's over.

Knock yourself out.

OMG, I don't care what actors you bring on to do these intros - they are

Zhao winning is great for representation in general. But it's feels even better after The Farewell's absurd snubbing across the board last year. And also because THANK THE LORD that Mank isn't what Fincher wins for.
