A Buffy the vampire slayer reboot movie?!

No doubt, I would prefer a continuation of the existing series and not a remake, but those are just the actors I would like to see if a remake occurs.

Um I perfer someone who can act. That's why I say Amanda. She already played a teenage demon hunter that was based on Buffy in Jennifer's Body which ironically she starred in with Megan Fox.

The only other person who could pull it off IMO is Amber Heard.

And This isn't going to have any of the TV show characters just Buffy in it sadly. It's a remake of the 1992 movie of the same name.

If you would prefer someone who could act then why did you pick such ****** choices?

Yes. An actual teenager *Gasp!*
Teenagers playing teenagers. What a concept.

...who couldn't act to save her life. It's bad enough this movie is happening at all let alone with someone like her in the lead.

SMG wasn't a teen nor was Kristy Swanson playing one.

I think we can all agree that any of the choice posted would be better than Megan Fox right?

Just a quick question for the Buffy (tv series) fans...was SMG really that good? I've never watched the series, but even when I was a young teen I found the show and it's characters very corny. It's why I never caught up with it, despite it's huge popularity with my age demographic.

So it's a bit puzzling to see such strict casting requirements for the lead.

False

True

...let alone with someone like her in the lead..

We would be so lucky to find an actress that is Buffy's age and actually resembles SMG. Taylor is an excellent choice. And seeing as how you are a Megan Fox enthusiast, you have ZERO credibility on the subject :o

No, but since you ragged on Taylor for being the "chick from Gossip Girl" I want to remind you of Sarah Michelle Gellar pre-Buffy. All she was known for was daytime soap operas such as Swans Crossing and All My Children. Much cheesier than Gossip Girl, and SMG's acting was quite flat. And don't EVEN get me started on Kristy Swanson's resume pre-Buffy, or post Buffy for that matter. You act as if the fact that Momsen is the star of a popular CW television show that she isn't qualified to star in the movie adaption of...a popular CW television show.

SMG was never the crowning achievement of the show, Buffy has such a rich mythology due to it's supporting cast. David Boreanez, James Marsters and Anthony Stewart Head are a few of the extremely talented actors that come to mind. Sarah didn't step up her acting until the 3rd season and it got better as the show went on. She really impressed me in certain arcs, particularly the one when her mother died and the one when she had to sacrifice herself to save her sister.

I see. I'll look up the show again, since the remarkable praise this show has from geekdom surprises me.

On the topic of the lead, if SMG apparently grew into the role without having any sort of credibility before the show, is it not possible for it to happen with another young actress? Everyone starts somewhere, right?

Exactly the point I was trying to make.

And Crook, if you check out Buffy and like it, I recommend you also watch Angel. Most fans of the Buffyverse agree it's the superior show. It's less girl power, more testosterone fueled violence but it also has a classic crime noir feel to the early episodes.

Cool. So all in agreement, everyone from Taylor to Megan is fair-game for Buffy. :o

Will do. I never liked Boreanez (for no particular reason), but I'm a sucker for crime noir.

I refuse to believe that they are making this. As I said before, this just feels like "talk" to me.

First off Taylor does NOT look like SMG at all and she is NOT a "excellent" choice.

Second. Don't be an ass. Yeah I like Megan as a person but not as an actress and it's not like I'm suggesting her but people who have been in critically acclaimed movies not knock off bargain bin teen comedies.

You obviously know nothing about SMG. She also won a EMMY for that "daytime soap" you speak so dissmissivley about and was one of the youngest to do so. What has Taylor done but play an annoying character?

She was known to be a good actress long before Buffy came her way.

And she was rivetting as Buffy way before season 3! She was always great as B.:huh:

Obviously your like Taylors #1 fan so I'm sorry for "ragging" on your jailbait obsesssion.

Lies all LIES

See above post.

I still support Aimee Teegarden if the remake happens :O

She never won an Emmy. She won a Daytime emmy, It's not the same as an Emmy, not even close. It's not given out at the same award show. and it's not even televised. :whatever: Daytime Emmy's are to the Emmy's what The Special Olympics are to the Olympics.

I am not Taylor's #1 fan, I was just defending my choice for the role, and pointing how out your logic is stupid. Am I not allowed to for that? I don't even really watch Gossip Girl that much, I just think she looks and acts like a 16 year old cheerleader from California should look like. I am sorry if I don't want a 25 year old actress in the role. That may have worked in the 90's but it doesn't now.

Anyway, I would just rather a continuation of the show, preferably a movie adaption of the Season 8 comic book...

Another great choice for Buffy is Willa Holland, she bears a very strong resemblance to Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Yeah but your minimalizing it. She did that within one year of being on the show what Suzanne Lucci couldn't until like her seventeenth year on the show.

None of my choices where "25 year old actress[es]" and they look younger than taylor to me.

I agree she looks like SMG.
but..

should the person who gets the part have to look like Sarah since this wont even be based on the show but the movie?
