A New Era for the Wrestling Thread

The way his head hit off the table was nasty, wasn't expecting a punctured lung though.

I'm watching Raw now, I hope JD is okay. His head took a nasty hit on the table, and then again when Erik got him with the knee. He should probably take a couple of weeks off. Not like he was gonna win the Rumble anyway.

Edit JD is going to be out for awhile

JD McDonagh Injury Update Following Hospitalization After WWE Raw Spot - WrestleTalk

That sucks. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Yeah I'm not sure where the puncture happened but he surely had a concussion, I thought they should have had Carlito replace him mid-match.

Probably from continuing the match and taking more bumps. It says he collapsed backstage. As he wrote, it could have been worse. Honestly he could have broken his neck or been paralyzed. He's underrated imo takes great bumps and sells well.

They definitely should have had Carlito replace him mid match. That would have been the right call.

Declared people we know are officially in the Rumble

John Cena
CM Punk
Roman Reigns
Seth Rollins
Drew McIntyre
Sammi Zayn
Rey Mysterio
Carmelo Hayes
Logan Paul
Jey Uso
Chad Gable
Penta

Am I missing any official ones?

JD McDonagh was hospitalized after his Moonsault bump on Raw. He said he suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung. Get well soon.

First off, thanks to everyone for the messages and the concern. I'm good. I've got a couple of broken ribs and a punctured lung, so I'm going to be out for a couple months. All things considered, it could have been a lot worse, so I'm grateful for that. See ya in a bit.

Prediction for 2025: AJ Lee will do something WWE related in 2025 unless things go completely sideways between WWE and CM Punk, which right now seems unlikely. It could be a legends deal where she appears in WWE video games or appearances in WWE produced videos and documentaries. I don't know if she would come back to wrestle as I think she's had back issues that caused her to retire.

It could also be her making a shocking appearance in NXT to confront her wrestling daughters, Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez.

Bron Breakker declared for the Rumble last night.

I think we see AJ Lee on Saturday. If she doesn't show, I don't expect to ever see her.

Logan Paul would be the worst option to win the Men's Rumble.

You'd think if Cody vs. Cena was the plan for WrestleMania, Cena would've been on the go home RAW for the Rumble to set it up. He wasn't even really mentioned.

Instead it was Cody face to face with Punk, after getting kicked accidently by Sami, and Roman continues to have a presence in terms of driving all the storylines on both RAW and Smackdown (and is the cover star of WWE 2K25).

Thought I'd point all that out.

Cena is a busy guy and has a lot of outside commitments. So they'd probably rather have him on the Netflix debut instead of the go-home show.

I'm gonna make some Rumble predictions for fun.

L.A Knight will be #1

Seth will eliminate Punk

Chad Gable will enter #12

Liv Morgan will be in the final four

Nikki Bella will eliminate Lyra Valkyria

Jacob Fatu will clean house and eliminate everyone in the ring when he enters. When he's waiting for the next man to enter it'll be John Cena.

Saturday we will see if any of this ish comes true :funny:

If Gable is 12 though someone owes me a cookie lol.

NXT was bookended by 2 quality tag matches, Giulia & Bayley vs Roxy & Cora, and Bianca & Naomi vs Lashkara. In the opening tag all 4 women were going all out but Roxy in particular was on fire, she seems amped for this Bayley feud. In the main event Lashkara but on another excellent performance against the Champions, they're ready for the main roster, everything Bianca and Lash were in together things picked up a notch.

I'm liking this new surly version of Trick, his match with Wes Lee was a good showing for both guys and allowed both to progress upwards with their current direction, Wes could be in line for a shot at the NXT title, although I don't see Oba Femi losing the belt any time soon, even when Ava puts him in quasi handicap defenses.

Shottzi vs Fallon for the North American title was another good match with the logical outcome, I'm expecting Stephanie Vaquer to take that title at Vengeance Day.
