I mentioned him a very long time ago but thought he was out of the running.

Let me clarify my position:

Aaron Eckhart is a real asshat :cmad:

Now Eckhart's Chin? Acting genius.

Heh, but you were right!

Then you probably weren't around when Bale was cast. And from what I remember, there was incredible positivity around these boards when Liam Neeson was picked for Ra's and Oldman for Gordon as well. The BB franchise has singlehandedly the highest number of the "most harmonious casting" threads on the Hype.

The Bale reaction doesn't surprise me. ;)

This time around it hasn't been quite like BB, or so people who were around then as well tell me so I suppose I should say it's a new experience for me, someone who hasn't been here that long.

I'll echo JStorm - asshat?

Eckhart has been riding on his Chin's coattails for years - yet has never allowed him to be his own man, step out from beneath his shadow. What a jerk :cmad:

In all honesty, Eckhart may be as kind and fluffy as Snuggles - I don't know. I just heard of him for the first time at 10:something last night.

I have never thought about him as Dent before. But I will be very happy, if he gets the role.

Yeah, he should change his haircut and dye hair, but this doesn't matter. He's still a very good actor (he was the best thing in s*** like The Black Dahlia) and he can not onlyt play good fella, but also bad-ass guy with psychological problem.

I hope he will play Dent

What about when Ledger was cast?

LOL!

Good choice. Good actor. Him or Edward Norton or Joaquin Phoenix! These three are my top choices for Harvey Dent...

Good choice. I would be pleased with Eckhart for Dent. I remember somebody mentioned him a while ago on these boards, I think he would've made a good Matt Murdock as well but I digress. He has my support.

By see i didn't mean literally, any half decent looking guy can be made up to look like Harvey,i mean visually he's as generic and architypical as Bruce but everything ive seen him in he when he tries for charisma/charm he comes of sleazy like a used car salesman to me

Jeez he's not that bad.:woot: I personally think he's capable of pulling it off. He's not really played anything like Two Face yes but Ledger hasn't really played anything like the Joker either.

Also, he's not such a big star so it would be a big break for him a bit like Bale.

Harmonious? The Ledger Casting?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I dunno, Norman...it was pretty funny from the standpoint that people were willing to dispute it based on the fact that he was ZOMG, in a film about gheys!!!!!

I love the irrationality of homophobia.

My favorite role for Eckhart so far was him in Posession. Great movie, awesome character. :)

Never seen him in a movie, even better so I don't have an image of him in my head.
Hope he does well.

It was a combination of Brokeback Mountain, 10 Things I Hate About You, and the already rabid Hulme v. Bettany v. Eccleston v. Glover groups.

For legitimacy of Ledger, I think, please refer to this movie: The Order.

I didn't much like him. Then I saw this movie.

He did a great job. And it's not the typical role for him.

The latter I can sort of understand (it does suck when your favourite doesn't get the role) but the first two are baffling to me still.

10 Things was years ago and he's pretty good in it. BBM is a film that, admittedly, is somewhat polarizing but again, he shows his talent as Ennis.

Yeah, I know, I'm biased and all that but still, some of the comments reminded me of why I have such a healthy dislike of my fellow humans. If someone really can't handle the idea of an actor playing a gay person, they have more problems than anyone can possibly help them with.

Not exactly true, there was some controversy about Cillian Murphy, people said he was too handsome for Crane, Katie Holmes was somewhat controversial from the start and some initially thought that Oldman should have played a villain.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

If most of the controversy was about his acting skills, it´d be more of a valid dispute, but a lot of that is typical fanboy bias against actors that are somewhat perceived as "pretty boys" and also the homophobic "Brokebat Mountain" crap.

I'm sorry, I can't help it - LOL @ the logic!
