This man can act. Some are doubting his age but I dont mind.

How can I not forget this man that banged Katie hard in many places from the kitchen, the bedroom, the closet, etc. the lucky bastard.
TYFS was brought to attention due to the controversial missing sex scenes between Katie and Aaron sparking conspiracy theorists to
jump to conclusions that Tommy boy ordered the studio to cut
the sex scenes between Dawes and Dent.

Count me in on the Eckhart bandwagon. Black Dahlia was crappy but he should have won in TYFS.

What was Eckhart like in Black Dahlia? He always has great presence even though he's been in alot of crap

Actually Scarlett,Swank and Josh Harnett were so stiff and De Palma's plot didnt help. The quality was bad overall but Aaron playing the L.A. detective was the most consistent of all the stars.

i really liked him in thanks for smoking but i dunno if i can see him as two face.

I'm certainly keen on this one...

I'm very confident in his ability to play a perfect Dent. Anyone know of any movies where he exhibited Two-face like traits?

-R

in The Black Dahlia he plays a detective who's past causes him to lose sanity and fall into (sexual) obsession with the Elizabeth Short. he starts off the movie as a golden boy in the police department and fall tragically into the abyss.
he even dies in the movie because his obsessions and problems cause him to get so crazy about covering things up.

anywho, Eckhart = brilliant casting choice.

it was based on a book. the movie didn't do a great job of being easily understandable to those who didn't read the book. but the casting choices all played the roles perfectly when you read the book.

Hartnett's character is a bit stiff, Scarlett's was a more quiet and meek personality, and Swank's was a huge bich and a total psychosexual.

I haven't seen BLACK DAHLIA yet, but to date, everything i've seen Eckhardt in tells me he's a good actor, but that he doesn't have a whole lot of range. His "charm" tends to be kind of "smarmy", and I'm not sure I want that for Harvey Dent. Not sure about this rumor/choice. It could work, I guess, but I think there are better choices.

I'm skeptical on this one... which is a bit odd because I don't really have too strong a view on Dent/Two-Face.

I suppose it's that I don't think he can pull off the manic extremes of Two-Face. Probably because it wasn't believable (for me) when he went manic in Black Dahlia.

But if he gets cast in the role... I suppose he's right for the one that was written. So we'll see.

Black Dahlia sucks a huge one

everything in it is cool, but it has probably the worst story I have ever seen

Eckhart works in it, as he does in alot of movies, and as he will in TDK

He's one of my favorite actors working today; I'd be very pleased if he nabbed the role.

He also looks the part, moreso than a lot of the names most frequently dropped.

Come on, announce Eckhart got the role already, so I can start my Eckhart's Chin thread.

I hypothetically just got ahold of this movie a few hours ago, hypothetically through illegal means, which should hypothetically give me a good idea of how he'd hypothetically play the charming Dent. :o

Hypothetically speaking, of course.

I was definitely for Eckhart when I heard this announcement a few days ago. I've let it sink in a bit further and I'm now fully convinced... he should get the part. (Personally, I'm STILL a fan of Schreiber, but he's completely unlikely at this point. I think.)

Liev is still a favorite of mine as well but the boy is too busy enjoying his new TV gig on CSI.

I'll wait and see but Eckhart just seems so boring.

I think the problem with this update is that there's been nobody concrete before this guy, that everyone is jumping on the wagon just because its something to talk about. There are a lot of better suited actors for Dent.

Eckhart is a good actor. He's not my first choice but definetely a great choice. I hope he can really play both sides of the coin(no pun intended) as he will have to on part 3 or the end of TDK. His character is as complex as bruce/batman. I think he's about the right age, looks wise... well he looks elegant in a suit and he has a good jaw, he has the looks and the acting chops so lets see how this comes out.

Man I am actually favoring this guy over my former #1 pick.

I guest Nolan and crew know what theyre doing.

i agree.
Schreiber would've been pretty sweet in the role, but he always seemed pretty unlikely. Eckhart fits into the BB world that Nolan has created perfectly. i hope to god that Eckhart gets the role.
