Ant-Man Adam McKay to direct "Ant-Man"

If it's a done deal then McKay seems to be the best replacement at such short notice.

The guy has done action before, has experience with Rudd and a knowledge in how to deal with humor.

He's a good choice, unless you don't like his brand of humor, he's made a lot of comedy classics such as Anchorman, Step Brothers, Talledega Nights, etc, he's done action in The Other Guys and it looked good.

Not that it matters anyway, there are already people freaking out because his movies aren't visually impressive (not that his movies called for it till now though), but he's brought in for the characters, story, tone & all of that, they already got action sequences pre-vized and all of that, that will be the DP's work & second unit director.

We're in good hands here.

McKay is one of the best choices for this situation. It sucks that we're not getting Wright's vision, but we'll have to make due with a man who's a pretty good comedic director who has shown that at least solid directing chops when it comes to action.

I never expected McKay for this movie. is it gonna be a really funny film like his others? Now Im expecting a comedy unless he pulls a Russo Bros and makes some awesome genre film.

Pretty much, I remember being really weirded out by the Russo brothers doing Cap, after all, they were the guys involved with Arrested Development & Community, and I think nobody at that time were thinking they would deliver the movie they did, nothing in their body of work could have let us imagine that.

Speculating: After AOU which will probably get pretty dark I think Ant Man will be like a palette cleanser by way of the lighter tone/humor. I think thats a great way to start Phase 3.

I would have preferred Fleischer but McKay should be alright. Marvel will be doing all of the effects stuff anyway so his inexperience there amounts to nothing substantial.
