After Nolan's BATMAN trilogy... - Part 1

Odd that they randomly brought up Farrell at the end of that article. For what it's worth though, I think he could pull it off.

Wasn't he supposed to play Batman in Wolfgang Peterson's Batman vs Superman?

There was a rumor about that but then they asked him at the time and he said something like, "Don't believe everything you read."

Not surprising really, WB needs to get a Superman and Batman solo movies out that share the same DC Universe for them to make a JL movie. A JL movie without Batman would tank.

But, WB cannot make a reboot Batman movie for a 2014 release, it takes some time to get right script, producer and director and the cast even if they announce the tentative date like summer 2014, I don't think that they can actually manage that.

I am worried about Studio manufactured Batman movie like GL and Jonah Hex, it looks bad, people involved should have some respect for the character and they need a vision, just hiring some director like Louis Leterrier and some script writers like (just some examples of kind of people WB usually hires.) Akiva Goldsman and some producer like Joel Silver will not result in a good movie.

Oh, and please keep Colin Farrell away from Batman. :cmad:

What will be will be...

So, would you see a movie like this - (hypothetically speaking) Joel Silver as a producer for the next Batman reboot with script by Akiva Goldsman and Louis Leterrier as a director and Batman played by Colin Farrell

Well... I mean, it's not like we can do anything about it.

Batman has been having (one of his many) days in the sun in terms of pop culture lately. But these things tends to fluxuate.

The reboot will happen and it will be either a good thing or a bad thing. As Adam West commented about the success of the TV show... ''We got so big and the ratings were SO high... that the only way to go was back down''.

So yeah... I like Batman in all his forms. So what will be will be.

How about this...the next film should contain gothic tones. (Gotham especially should have a gothic feel) Batman's costume would look like material that could take a bullet without being bulky and armored. It would be flexible fiber capable of protecting him from projectiles (There is a book i'm reading where they wear "Skinsuits" which basically are a fiber material that can block a certain amount of kinetic energy)

The fight sequences would be more akin to a martial arts film, Batman's cape would not only be used to make his presence in the shadows more creepy but could also be used in combat. (see Arkham city)

Agreed. This the kind of fighting I'd like to see in a reboot. Take advantage of the mask and costume and put a real, world class martial artist in there for the fight scenes.

I'm not sure I understand why calling it The Batman means they're going to adapt that stupid cartoon. It's just the name of the character. The Mankeiwicz script used that title too. I like it for a reboot.

the writer is not so smart

but strong as ox

I think it makes sense to give Batman a solo movie after a JL movie. We've been beaten to death with him. Have the new MOS mention Batman/Gotham/something and then use that Batman in JL if MOS is a success and then give that Batman a spinoff. But that's just me.

Looking at that pic has me really thinking a Batfamily film could work as opposed to it just being Batman again.

I'd love to see the reboot styled after the Arkham games.

That's the best way to go, especially since Batman will be involved with the JL. If Batman's solo film comes out first, then it'll be a great introduction into how Batman starts working with others and is tolerant to being part of the JL team, since he was the king of loners before Robin arrived.
