I say no new Batman films until the JLA/JSA movie comes out. The film should concentrate on the core team sans Batman (I know, I know what your thinking but wait), and maybe a few cameos or mentions of other minor characters that could be apart of the team later on. Then at the end of the film there is a referenced made by Superman or someone that they need some serious help with an upcoming world threat, then we see Batman come from the shadows where the JL is meeting and says, "What took you guys so long or something smart-allek." Or he could even be in a chair working at a computer and then he turns around to reveal himself and the films cuts to credits.
Either way I want to see a JL/JSA film done like LOTR, 2 or 3 parts back to back. I figure that since this will be an ensemble cast it will get compared to Avengers pretty hard, especially since the team will more than likely be coming together to combat a global threat like aliens or inter-dimensional beings, etc.
Although, I love Batman I don't want to see him in the first film really, just several heavy references made to him and a reveal at the end. In fact I think it would be a clever running joke if certain team members keep bringing him up as if he is the "big gun" go to guy but someone else on the team quickly silences any mentions of him so we hear obviously references but never really his name. Maybe we even get Flash or Aquaman about to say his name, "Ba..." but Superman or GL quickly interrupt and say, "No! He doesn't work well with others." Lol, somewhat of a running gag. Then in the 2nd and possible 3rd film he is used heavily of course.
We've seen a lot of Batman; 7 films in the last 20 years, numerous cartoons, many DVD movies, etc. I think it is time to minimize his screen time, introduce other players, but all the while keeping him in the loop and relevant.
I just don't think having Batman on screen in the 1st film is really needed and would take away from other characters getting screen time.

I don't mind if that angle is used for part of a film, but Batman should be part of any Justice League project because he's a key character. WB will never go for a JUSTICE LEAGUE movie without Batman having a large presence.

No Batman = im not buying my ticket. Sorry. I can absolutely deal with no Aquaman, but i wouldnt even be able to handle no Flash or Green Lantern nevermind losing a key character like Batman. Forget it, WB will never go for it and thank god for that.

I love what Nolan did for the most part,but I really hope we get something closer to B:TAS next time.
Frankly,I'm a little tired of having to say "Nolan's Batman" "Burton's Batman" Etc.Can we just have a "Batman" film next time?

While I get what you mean (the style of director taking over), I don't think you'll ever get this for films.
Films are heavily director-driven. Even if we do get a "Batman" film closer to the comics, the director will still be seen as the driving force of this. It will still be "[NAME HERE]'s Batman". That's just the way film is regarded most of the time.
Very different from TV, where the writers and directors are rotational for the most part.

I see your points as far as not wanting to see a JL film without Batman as he is a key part but think about it this way. In the cartoons & comics it was always noted that Batman was either a part-time member, a reluctant member (too busy, uninterested) his words in fact, or someone that didn't mind sitting out a fight if he thought others could handle it. I think having a team come together with a Batman that is hesitant to join or not really caring to seeing as how he essentially has his own team is an interesting idea.

Plus, it would allow the other characters to develop without having Bats in the way and everyone complaining that either Batman is on screen and underused or on screen and used to much, seeing as how he is Batman and doesn't really play wingman...unless he decides lol.
p.s. as far as Aquaman is concerned. Aquaman is a pimp and one of the best IMO...check out Crisis on Two Earths movie and Batman: BATB. Don't pay attention to the Superfriends Aquaman. I say give Aquaman some super-strength, durability, near impenetrable skin to some degree, stamina, psychic /sonar with sea creatures, and even water manipulation sans magic hand. I always thought it would be cool if Aquaman could manipulate water though the use of magic learned from Atlantis sages or scrolls. The magic hand and spear were cook, but having the ability before hand would have been better. Maybe he did, I just never read the comics. Also, give him some gills on his neck or behind his ear, fins on his leg, web feet and hands and fighting abilities second or almost even to Batman and you have a beast.

Im sure Batman will be a little uninterested or wanting to do things his way rather than becoming some team-player. And i think it'll help him understand it better and eventually that same Batman could be opening his door in his solo films, to Dick Grayson. Maybe he'll learn to work with others a little more in the Justice League films and it'll rub off on him whenever he heads back to Gotham.
I dont think he will be the main focus, and that's what will be interesting. But he needs to be a part of this and at least be a driving force in the marketing. He can lay back a bit in the movie, do some detective work, get involved in some major fights only.

I agree that the next standalone film should be closer to TAS.
However, would Batman really be needed for the marketing of JL. I mean aren't the other heroes enough? I love Batman he is my favorite of them all, I just think it would be nice if he did suck up the whole screen time.

Marketing and screen time are two very different things, or it could be is what im trying to say. WB will market the hell out of Justice League by putting Batman and Supermans symbols/costumes everywhere. I can see them teasing the suit, etc for a while until they reveal who the new actor is.
But he doesnt have to be the biggest part of the movie. He doesnt have to be the one with a lot of screen-time compared to the rest of the pack. But yes..he will be needed to market this movie.

Given that the other heroes are largely complete unknowns? *YES*, Batman is absolutely necessary for the marketing.

Yeah i know what you mean, but i think they meant that Burtons Batman was a very different take on Batman (very gothic/bizarre...creepy but campy at the same time. And he changed most things around to support that approach of being playful but weird). Shumacher was straight up camp and a lighter tone, like the 60s tv show thrown in a time machine (Joel & the studio made sure that changes were made to make everything as goofy and kid friendly as possible). And we know Nolans take was a gritty, more real world version. The most accurate so far but still a ways off. Again Chris made a lot of changes so they can fit a realistic tone.
So it's time to have the comic book accurate batman. Like the animated series brought to life. It'll hopefully just be classic Batman, and there will be multiple directors this time (JL & the solos).

Complete unknowns is a massive stretch. This isnt a team full of Hawkeyes and Ant-Mans. But yes, Batman/Superman will be at the forefront of marketing.

Yeah you lost me with the unknowns, too. JL's core members are/were easily more recognizable than the Avengers front team before the movie came out this summer...and that's not even strictly speaking in comic/nerd circles. I mean to the general public.
You forget that their have been numerous cartoons with GL, Flash, Supes, Bat, and Wonder-Woman.
I agree that Batman can be used for the marketing. I just don't think not having Batman in the majority of the film and saving him for after the first film for the next two film series will be that bad or hurt the movie. In fact I think it will help the franchise if it gives audiences something to look forward to in anticipation of the sequels.

Old DC heroes are better known to young adults and older. But, kids today grew up with Marvel characters. DC has been small potatoes, comparatively, for years. So, to the kids/teens that the studio needs for a movie like this to succeed, characters like Flash, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, and Aquaman are largely unknown.

I'm sorry, but to say kids today have had the same exposure to DC characters is denial. Comic books aren't nearly as popular as they used to be, and the general audience hasn't seen DC characters on tv or in film, aside from Superman and Batman. There have been some straight-to-dvd cartoon movies, but that's not the same as a tv show or a wide release feature.
