After Nolan's BATMAN trilogy... - Part 1

I think Avengers is MCU's best, and Iron Man is a close second. Iron Man 2 and Incredible Hulk aren't their shining jewels, but they aren't bad either. It's like someone said earlier,it's not great, it's just good. However, IM2 has the same pitfalls TDKR has (Weak Villain death after a huge setup, characters taking screen time from the main, and others I'd rather take to PM)

I would put Iron Man, Thor and Avengers (only on first viewing) as good. Nothing mindblowing there.

Avengers on further viewings would be just mediocre/okay for me. Incredible Hulk and Cap rotate from mediocre to just plain horrible. Iron man 2 falls in the same category.

You have an interestingly harsh definition of "mediocre."

Well, when i dont like a movie that much besides a few scenes and i dont think there's anything special to it (filmmaking, script, performance, etc)..then to me it's mediocre at best. I would put Captain America in the horrible category but ive seen worse comic book movies so im being generous.

Captain America was definitely the weakest. I really did not like that one, it could have been so good though, I like Cap comics but that movie just left me very underwhelmed. The best scenes were with Red Skull but they barely built up Red Skull as Caps nemesis.

Great:
Avengers, Iron Man, Thor (in that order)

Good: Hulk, Cap

Meh: Iron Man 2

I don't see all the hate for cap though, it was a good movie....not great but good at least

Exactly. I love that movie because it never took itself too seriously. And it was pulp in the same sense that Indiana Jones is. I only ever got to see the last Indy movie in theaters, so it was great finally having a movie like that that I got to see in theaters. That's what I loved about it.

Could they have gone the serious war route? Yes. But, they went the more Indiana Jones route - and I see nothing wrong with that.

ADDING: And the critics liked it as well with a mostly universal 8/10 rating.

I'd say:

Great: Iron Man

Good: The Avengers, The Incredible Hulk

Meh: Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor

I can't watch this movie unless I'm doing a marathon: Iron Man 2

Lies. I heard it'll be starring Squirrel Girl.

That Downey stare-down intro should have been the only thing they showed at the superbowl. Trolled everybody.

They should have it before Iron Man 3. Imagine...

IRON MAN 3 title card...

...Robert Downey Jr. stare down....

...credits....

...fade to black, lights come back on.

Then the lights go off and they really start the movie.

If the Justice League movie will be in the Nolanverse, I'd love to see mind the next Batman movie to be directed by Rian Johnson and starring JGL.

Bruce with the Justice League (at least for the first one to set it up), and solo movies with Blake in Gotham.

Dont see how that's a reboot lol. its just footage from the trilogy.....

I'm pretty new to editing videos, so I just made it simple and used footage from the trilogy to get the main point across of the idea of a reboot

If WB wants me to pay full price for a ticket, they can't give me JGL Batman. I actually feel like if that was the route they were going to take, they would have announced it by now.

I'm guessing that, like people have said already, they are really waiting to see how Man of Steel does before deciding how to move on. If it does well, they may either focus on Superman, while putting out a few "side" projects featuring lesser known characters (like Jonah Hex , The Losers, Constantine, even Watchmen, etc) came out during Batman's reign, OR take a risk at doing big movies starring their other franchise players (Wonder Woman, Flash, possibly JLA, etc). The problem here may be, though, that they also tried this in the midst of their Batman films with Green Lantern, and they don't seem too pleased with that result.
