Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - S2E7 "The Writing on the Wall"

Great episode. Ward is now a great character. Much more interesting than playing the overlooked misunderstood hero.

Yeah, he was Captain Generica up until The Winter Soldier turn. Now he's a compelling character.

I'm really enjoying the cast this season, really good chemistry/vibe.

They probably had this in play the whole time. People griped about him being boring but it was intentional.

I'm not sure how much the showrunners were in the know, the cast definitely didn't know.

When Skye shows Coulson the crime scene photos with the carvings on the body, she says "one of my contacts, Micro, who is in to crime scene photos..." or something to that effect. I rewound and put on closed captions to make sure I heard it correctly, and she definitely said Micro. We're assuming that she is referring to Punisher's Microchip character.

Yeah, that's what I meant but I must not have been clear. I was speculating that maybe the city that they now have a blueprint for will be an abandoned city on earth, and when they find the city in the show the powers that be (the producers, future directors, etc) will not have had to cast any Inhumans yet because the city will be empty, with it's former residents having moved to to the moon (in the MCU... speculatively.)

tHATS WHAT I THOUGHT:wow:

found the Trust Cap image. It's one of five propaganda posters

I CAUGHT THAT TOO..LOVED IT

watching it with my gf and i yelled out... Attilan..Inhumans, My god:wow:
Girlfriend just shook her head and rolled her eyes:whatever:
I've had to fill my kids in on the city, or at least what we HOPE it is. lol

I thought it was sort of interesting/ironic that "Cap leads the way" but Cap is the one who felt SHIELD needed to be dismantled and not return, but Coulson has fought the hardest to bring it back. It makes me wonder if he knows Steve's feelings about it and whether we could have a scene down the road where that comes to a head.

Talk about undercover!

Some of you may know, I teach an AP Government class and usually have Agents of Shield questions as extra credit. This week's questions was, "What book was Bobbi Morse reading when she was waiting on the bus?"

Well, I told the students in advance what the question was going to be (this is a tough question), and one student came in today and told me that Lance Hunter can be seen in the background, dressed as a cowboy.

Awesome episode, and finally some closure on Project TAHITI!

Best part, by far, yet again were Hunter and Bobbi. Hunter's cowboy was hilarious, and loved their back and forth when they got back together :D

So it's a map of a city huh. Lots to speculate about there, definitely heading down the Inhuman route. I'd say its most likely a secret underground city where the ancient Kree created the Inhumans.

One concern though. AoS is doing a wonderful job of dealing with HYDRA and keeping this fantastical world grounded. I'm a bit worried that we're going to get a bit... well, supernatural, if we suddenly introduce all this spacey Inhuman stuff... I trust the writers, but I've really been enjoying dealing with HYDRA/SHIELD rather than the Guardians type stuff

Loved the episode, Wards redemption is Obvious. I still hope they wont let him redemp himself. I hope he stays on the run but fights HYDRA.

As for the inhumans, don't know the comics. I'am sensing that a lot of people here got love for the inhumans. I hope they are as great as everybody thinks.

I agree with you, don't like it that the focus is off HYDRA/SHIELD but this big thing, the writers can't ignor so I think they will focus on the supernatural.

I don't have any real love for the Inhumans but what I'm loving is seeing these seedling easter egg type things bloom and produce even more interesting storylines, especially when they touch back to silver/bronze age stuff that I grew up on. While I never really had an opinion one way or another about the Inhumans, I very much remember them threaded throughout the early years of Marvel and so that's what's nice about it for me at least.

Inhumans just seems like too broad a topic to cover in AoS, a show that has always been about the man on the ground. It's a jarring shift to suddenly see the likes of Hunter dealing with a bunch of potential supers

Was this the most physical Coulson has gotten so far? I don't think he's been in this kind of fight where he's more brutal than usual.

You know of a different set of Avengers, Mack?

Should've replied "No, the Avengers with Steed and Emma Peel." :o

The guy who built the city blueprint was wasted in the role. Mark Valley and he, look just like Clay Quartermain.

That's what I thought too. I wondered if he'd really be Clay rather than Calvin Klein. :oldrazz:

Maybe the blueprint guy returns later on?

I wonder why it took something like seven operations to save Coulson when several patients were seemingly brought back with no problem other than the obvious.

Wasn't Coulson dead for a period of time while the others were live volunteers that were mind wiped?

Yes. He was the only dead patient of Project T.A.H.I.T.I.
Nope, they were all dead. They had been subjects of the new mind-wipe procedure b/c previously the resurrection process had made everyone go insane. Even though the mind wipes worked at first they failed as seen here and as mentioned in Coulson's TAHITI report last season.

Also, was anyone else bothered by how much this guy looks like Bill Baxton in certain shots:

Phil Coulson: "How do you feel today?"
Rebecca Stevens: "Terrific. I've never felt better."
Phil Coulson: "Do you remember how you got here?"
Rebecca Stevens: "I volunteered. I was dying, and when I woke up, everything was okay."

When you volunteer for some medical experiment, I suppose you want to be cured after you die. Yes, please, let me die and then inject me with the cure to see if it works. If it doesn't, don't worry, I won't sue you.

I really cant remember now but i thought it was to research the regenerative effects on mortally wounded agents not necessarily bring back agents from the dead. Drawing a blank.

Good Morning Director Fury, I regret to inform you that I’m handing in my resignation. I know you brought me on to Project T.A.H.I.T.I. because you trusted my judgment, and it’s that judgment that’s telling me I can no longer, in my good conscience, let the testing continue. I understand you started the program to potentially save a mortally wounded Avenger, but the side effects are too extreme.
