Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents Of SHIELD - Episode2.19 - The Dirty Half Dozen

Given Coulson's rank as Director (even if Gonzales and Real SHIELD say otherwise), I'd say he's Alpha Level now.

I'd have to agree, the director is level 10 and Fury made Coulson the director. Therefore coulson is level 10.

lol yeah that was great wasn't it? Welcome aboard!!!
Thanks for the welcome. Is anyone else over Gonzalez as a character. The dude's heart is in the right place but leading is not his forte.

it always bugged me that Hill didn't become director...being deputy and all..

I don't know. Let's put it to a vote.

Any Director of SHIELD would hear this and laugh at the speculation of his clearance level. Those are for underlings and compartmentalization. The boss knows all the secrets. :D

The episode was excellent, except one thing. In Nothing Personal Maria Hill assisted Talbot in finding a S.H.I.E.L.D. base, and she openly told Coulson that there is no S.H.I.E.L.D. anymore, but now she serves as some sort of a liaison officer between S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers. Isn't that a little hypocritical?

In the one shot The Consultant. Sitwell has level 6. Coulson has level 7. Sitwell wasn't aware there was a level 7. I'm guessing Hill 8 and Fury 9?

I'm pretty sure Fury is 10 and a quick search said Maria Hill was Level 9. A search also said Sitwell was Level 7. Coulson is going to be difficult to find because he's now director (I think he abolished the levels anyway). I assume Coulson was at least an 8 because Grant Ward was a 7.

Between that and last episode's appearance we had a Fury tasking Coulson with rebuilding SHIELD and MCU Maria Hill is a Fury loyalist, so yeah, it's not surprising she changed her mind. :)

So where does it go from here? Does Gonzales back off and accept Coulson as being in charge. Do they try and make it a democracy (has this ever been done in a military organisation?). Or will they split?

Clearly Fury will have to come in & tell that old mother ****er & his fake thing to get the **** out. Maybe also have Talbot come in & arrest those mother ****ers if they put up a fight

I'm pretty sure she had gone to work for Tony Stark when shield fell apart. So, since Stark is an Avenger, by extension she is still in the loop and has knowledge of Theta protocol. Not saying she isn't with shield anymore; just that it's a moot point.

Well obviously (and I'm being serious here), assuming Gonzales is honest about his philosophy and not using it as a pretense for a power play, he'd pass on what he's learned to the rest of the committee and put it to a vote whether they want to fall in line or break away.

Agree with that. Just don't see him meekly walking away if the vote decides Coulson should be leader.

guerrilla army's tend to have some sort of limited internal democracy. If you are not getting paid its a bit harder to accept a hierarchical structure.

I don't see Gonzalez getting out of the way until someone removes him by force. He seems like a stubborn enough guy to just go on pretending he's in charge.

I may be wrong but, I kinda got the impression that only Gonzalas knew what was in the cargo hold of the ship. Perhaps he is also keeping his own secrets.

You'd have thought after Bobbi and the rest got rid of hydra from the ship. That would be the first question they asked. What was so valuable that Fury wanted the ship destroyed?

Although yes it did come across that way when Coulson said it. This show does quite often skip logic to tell it's story.

The thing is, Gonzales and NuSHIELD didn't hold to Fury's way of doing things in the first place. I don't see how Fury showing up is going to make them all fall in line like good little soldiers.

well if they are all "shield".. then they all know that Fury is the director. so even if they don't agree with him. they do follow his directives

For one thing, it seems that it's just Gonzales who has an axe to grind with Fury and Coulson. If the other Real SHIELD people see that Coulson has the trust and respect of Hill, Fury, and others, maybe they'll reject Gonzales sooner rather than later.

That I'm sure of.

If it's just Fury and no one else, I agree. But if Fury were to pop up with an established force or something behind him (I haven't seen AOU yet (have to wait until Saturday morning) so I don't know what happens there in regards to Fury), there might not be much Gonzales and nuSHIELD can do about it other than refuse to be a part of SHIELD and start something else that's not called SHIELD (instead of hanging onto this whole 'real SHIELD' b.s.)

If that makes sense.

The world council would have to weigh in, would they not. Since they probably control SHIELDs budget. They were the ones funding project INSIGHT. And since Coulson Is the guy with the bank accts....remember when May & Jemma were discussing the money he was burning thru. It was like the years budget for SHIELD. I don't think he's concerned about Gonzales at all. In fact he's going out of his way to toy with him every chance he gets. He knows everything that's going on and Gonzales is in the dark. Poor guy!!!! All of his agents are going to need paper routes just to keep that ship going.
