Comics All Others Will Fail Compared to MJ

SIAT: In time...yes, she can be replaced. The right writer and the right storyline. The right character. It can be done. Suddenly it'll be all about that girl and people will remember MJ but this other girl will be a better fit for Peter Parker.

You failed to metnion a "right EIC"....who will allow the current no relationship policy....to actually go anywhere.

I mean, have people already forgot that is why we're here where we are..to have no relationship..?!

I don't remember a "no relationship" policy being handed down. I remember him saying that he was going to retcon the marriage. He did. And now it's a reality. 95 percent of the people here are acting like Joe Quesada just snatched the lollipop from their hands. And guess what? He doesn't give a crap.

Yes, they can replace MJ. All you need are the correct ingredients. Can they replace MJ RIGHT NOW? No. Right now it's too soon. Too many Spider-Man fans are acting like Marvel pissed in their cornflakes to do that. I mean most people around here had a nerd seizure over Peter kissing another woman on the first page of Brand New Day. He's NOT married to MJ...it's not cheating people. No matter how much you want it to be, sigh.

Do I really think that will happen? No. I think what is going to happen is that Pete and MJ are still going to find each other despite the devil's little hypnotizing spell. And if not...oh well...as long as Brand New Day is being written like the first part it's going to be fantastic.

Which is what makes him an ass, and stupid. I've heard him and Marvel as a whole say they are expecting people to get angry and they don't care. And MANY other people feel the same way. Apparently he doesn't like money. Which is what makes him stupid.

I dont think they are trying to rplace MJ. The way Quesada wants it, is for Peter to become single. Even iof he does get involved with a female, I doubt it will last too long as thats not the plan tehy have for him. I dont think MJ was really the issue, but the baggage she brings along as far as tying Pete down

And his supporting cast has dramatically dwindled since in this world no one knows spidey. (But they remember him unmasking)

And his relationships are meaningless.

SO, basically we've got stories that can go where they went before eventually (aunt may can figure out his identity), except for relationships that can NOT go where they went before.

That's the sad thing here, is they've changed history and made Pete into a boy again (Peter Pan), eating wheatcakes with his Aunt.

It is when it can't possibly grow into something serious because it would age the character, limit story potential, tie the character down... Almost any of the excuses they gave to why the marriage was bad.

There's no inconsistency. The soul part is the same thing as Eternal Sunshine, where the two people (in this case Peter and MJ) aren't married and don't know they're married, but have some instinctive feeling towards each other lying in the back of their minds. It's an unconscious feeling, not an actual memory.

I wonder what the hell is going on in the head of some people in the MU, like JJ jameson, he should be thinking: "I remember that Spiderman unmasked, he was someone, I was really angry about it, yet, I can't remember who he was"
Or Tony Stark: "What was the name of that guy we used to be really good pals, and we started a war togheter? You know, that Spiderman guy..."

Just like if I point out that I think JQ has done a phenomenal job with Marvel overall, I'm accused of being an employee or JQ himself. Hey, it's the nature of the internet that people will make stupid arguments and attacks. I'm always being told to get over it.

As far as logic goes, well, I don't know if anyone can claim that all holes will be filled. So, if you're waiting for it, take a really, really deep breath. Rather, I'm willing to live with it. There are certain things that happen in superhero comics that you take for granted and with a huge grain of salt, the most obvious being that villains always come back from the dead. I look at what's happening now along the same lines. It makes little (or no) sense, but it's happened, and it's time to move on. For me. If petitions and boycotts are the way to go for you, have at it.

Do you think they can really replace MJ? Any woman they give Peter will just be "it's not MJ". So no matter how good of a character they make or bring in, it'll always be "it's not MJ, his wife and soul mate."

They could NEVER replace Mary Jane she's Peter's wife, His soulmate .
