I didn't like Earth One myself

It had a lot of great elements, A badass alfred with an interesting past, Great art, Good stories and one of my favorite Batman suits ever. But oh well I guess it's not for everyone and I can understand why some still prefer Year One.

Well it is very reminiscent of Frankenstein reviving his monster via electricity, but it does seem like the transformation into Doomsday (if that was previously Zod's body) has already happened even before the lightnings hit it. I'm not sure whether it was Zod in literal sense or not... could be that Lex just used Zod's genes and created the body, basically from scratch. Could be just a tissue at this point.

Probably some of the pods in the genesis chamber were still functional after it crashed.
