I don't think it was something they do to all prisoners. I think it was something he asked for.

And I think it was a nod to Lionel's balding scene in prison in Smallville season 4.

Perhaps, but who's to say he isn't in some high max prison tried as a terrorist?

Not to mention it's highly unlikely he'd already been tried and convicted. Makes more sense he's in prison awaiting his trial.

Doomsday can't be his endgame the whole time, as he couldn't know about the possibility of Doomsday till after he accessed the Kryptonian ship.
Maybe not Doomsday itself, but gaining access to the ship and examining it, taking hold of the alien technology and gaining his own version of godhood.

There is a great moment when he's bargaining with that politician early in the movie, where he requests "the alien's remains for examination" and the politician asks "you want Zod's remains?" and Lex looks at him with a very strange look and goes "ok". I'm not sure Lex meant Zod. I think he meant Superman. It was probably written in as a joke, but still, he wants the ship. Everything else is a means to an end.

Some high security prisons shave prisoners to combat lice.

As for Gal and Henry and the criticisms, they are not responsible for the creative choices made. In fact, for the way he talks, I'm fairly certain we'd have a completely different Superman if Cavill was in control.

That thought crossed my mind too :)

If Batman loses to Superman, Lex can still acquire the Kryptonite Bruce stole. Getting it back from a dead Batman wouldn't be a problem.

A poster before mentioned WB wanting to split BvS into two movies:

Enter the Knight and Dawn of Justice

I have been saying this all along. They should have cut the movie in two parts!
Enter the Knight, would have built on Batman's hatred for superman because of the destruction and death he supposedly brought on the world. I would have kept Superman out of it more or less, perhaps a glimpse here or there and then a single confrontation which would lead to the main and final fight in "Dawn of Justice."

Also, I would have kept lex as the bad guy so that people are aware that "superman" exists in Batman's world. Perhaps, "Enter the Knight" would have ended with batman acquiring the kryptonite and failing to put Lex in jail.

I think Lex wanted to supplant Superman with Doomsday for when Darkseid arrives. He'd basically have a deity under his control to look after his interests. I don't think he was expecting it to go on a rampage since of course the "blood of his blood" would be above all that. This Lex's beef with Superman boils down to the fact that he can't control him. They could have gone in a different direction with it simply because I think Jesse is capable of a lot more, but it's servicable. Hopefully prison changes him as a character to someone more affable like the animated versions.

I think majority of us could burp out a better plan than the one they came up with for Lex.

Oh...this is an interesting theory. I think yyou are on to something because
Superman's body has the codex in it. Lex's main goal could be killing Supes and gaining access to that codex, only getting access to Zod changes plans. With Darkseid possibly controlling him, that makes sense, cause I suspect the codex is connected to the life/anti-life equations.

Whatever it is it sounds like it says "lex luthor" 0:04

Let the speculation begin mother****ers!
This to me confirms that [blackout]Lex found out about Darkseid in the scout ship, which he instructed to teach him about the 100,000 galaxies on record. This seems to be the scene after Superman's death, where Lex is being arrested, which would place it pretty late in the story[/blackout].

Don't know what the frakk that thing is, though.

I'm guessing that's who informs Lex of you now who

If Supes killed Batman then it would once again prove that he's a killer and not good. Lex was all about making people hate him too if he couldn't kill him he would make him a pariah.

Sure, but he'd still have the Krock too.
