The DC offices have to be chaos with over 15 movies being in development.

Man of Steel 2
Justice League 2
Cyborg
Green Lantern Corps
The Flash
Justice League Dark
Lobo
Wonder Woman 2
Batman
Nightwing
Batgirl
Gotham City Sirens
Harley v Joker
Suicide Squad 2
Deadshot
Black Adam
Shazam
Blue Beetle & Booster Gold

What am I missing

I only expect half of those to actually get made. I'm pretty hyped about Shazam going into development before any of them. Even though Green Lantern is my favorite DC property, I'd rather WB take its time with that in order avoid another 2011 situation.

I think we can take Deadshot and Lobo off that list. I can't see those fitting anywhere. Plus, Deadshot will get plenty of screentime in SS2.

It's kind of weird that some of you get so upset that DC announces they're developing movies based on their properties, but when other studios announce that they're developing movies based on their properties or properties they've acquired...

... the reactions are same. As in, I don't think a lot of people want to see SILVER & BLACK, or even I dare say that a lot of people don't want to see some VENOM movie, without it even being connected to Spider-Man.
And also on Fox. It was reported today that they are planning a Doctor Doom movie ....

I'm not thrilled that we will have so many spin offs from every studio now. Next year we have over 10 superhero movies and these spin offs increase the likelihood of the genre crashing down quickly.

I don't think Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Deadshot or Lobo ever get made. I think Cyborg, Black Adam and Justice League Dark are also questionable but have some things going for them that might get them greenlit (If Cyborg is well received in JL, The Rock being Black Adam and JLD being something DC seems intent on making even thought they've had several set backs, they still seem to really want to make that happen).

Despite all the problems with The Flash, I think the character is big enough and Ezra seems well liked enough (not by me but by most) that they will eventually square that away and make the movie, same with Green Lantern Corps. Those characters are heavy hitters for DC, I doubt they'll never get to those movies. A Joker Vs. Harley spin off is likely to happen just based on the fact that the two characters sell themselves, even with the poor reception to The Joker, he'll still put butts in seats, plus Margot Robbie owned the role and became wildly popular. Shazam, while I hate the character seems to be moving ahead full steam now so that looks likely to happen and I think it has the potential to be a big hit for a more family friendly DCEU movie that they'll need to continue the Universe.

The rest I think are near guarantees or very likely to happen. Most already have Directors attached, actors in place and potential to be pretty big hits if done well.

The genre was supposed to have crashed 10 years ago I hear.:o

I just hope this isn't a bad sign for Gotham City Sirens.

What a mess. I feel like half of these movies feature characters that work much better within an ensemble or as supporting roles.

I'm talking about movies in general. Not superhero movies.

When the average Hollywood movie is announced, it rarely gets that kind of reaction.

I find it ridiculous that studios can announce umpteen movies of whichever genre are in development, and the outcry is rarely "ANOTHER one?", but with superhero movies, there's some sort of strike against the project for simply being in development.

This is the way Hollywood works. Things go into development. Some of them get made and released. Some of them don't.

Some of you obviously don't remember what it was like living in a world where you were lucky to get a superhero movie made, let alone a superhero movie about a villain, a third tier character, an unknown hero...it gets a bit grating to hear constant, constant whining that someone somewhere thinks a character has potential and is putting a project into development. It belies a lack of understanding of the process and a lack of appreciation of the characters and mythologies.

Not all studios are equal.

And I can assure you that Fox and Sony have had just as much vitriol thrown at them as WB.

Do me a favor, look at that list of 18 films currently in development and try to think of any other time in Hollywood where a studio kicked this many random projects from one franchise into development. Go ahead, I'll wait. Try to think of one.

It's hilariously obvious why people are upset; DC clearly has no direction or plan moving forward. Some of us have been saying this for years, and they've all but confirmed it at this point.

What's funny is that now WB has two and possibly three projects that are supposedly under development (Gotham City Sirens, Harley v. Joker: Dawn of Madness and Suicide Squad 2) that all center around Harley Quinn. I liked Margot's Harley more or less but again, this seems to be another case of WB just grasping at the best part of a terrible movie. They did it with Affleck after BvS too. Their rationale for everything seems to be, "Well, people didn't hate [insert character here]! Let's build our cinematic universe around him/her!"

Talk about knee jerk reactions.

some of these movies seems like they are just throwing ideas against the wall and seeing what sticks . However I think the route taken should be smaller low budget movies for some of these . I could see these being lower budget movies in which they would have to fail hard not to make a little money off of them . I would make these lower budget movies

Harley vs Joker
Suicide Squad 2
Gotham City Sirens

Then make the following mid tier budget movies

Batgirl
Nightwing
Black Adam
Cyborg
Justice League Dark

Then save the big ones for the major franchises

Batman
Man of Steel 2
The Flash
Aquaman
Wonder Woman
Shazam
Green Lantern Corps

The Booster Gold , Lobo, Deadshot movies I don't really see happening but I'd also do some original series for their streaming service they have coming that would tie into the DCEU much like Marvel has done with Netflix.

I wanna see Blue Beetle (Ted Kord) and Booster Gold on the big screen!

Nightwing and batgirl could get away with a low budget. Cyborg might be a bigger budget based on cg alone

Yep because so many of these have been confirmed by Warner Bros.

It's definitely not the media that's latching on too any possible rumor posting about it, without any sources.
