I just hate the impact of RT and Metacritc on the GA. I have a bunch of friends who have already said " the reviews aren't good" or "Cavill is not getting good reviews." Some of it is crap as they are simply looking at the score as opposed to reading a review that may be Rotten but not exactly bad.
At least it's breaking records in the Philippines.

Wasn't there an rumor going around awhile back that Snyder was able to get Warner Bros. to give him more funding since he was able to add more to the final fight sequence between Superman and Zod? Considering that some of the issues that people is that they feel that the last fight drags out too long, that's another thing to consider.
Yes, just like how we all were saying how all the credit must go for Snyder for this film, all of the faults lie on him too. I've been saying for months that big CGI fight fests just don't interest me as much as the character interaction and drama, and that the flaws of SR had nothing to do with lack of fights (it was all to do with the poor character work). Yet I was berated for bring this up and every poster jumped on me 'We want fight scenes, don't watch it if you don't want that.' I want our big superpowered fight scenes too. But we already know just by Snyder's body of work that we were going to get that and it would be amazing. But that can't be the bulk of your movie.

What are the parts of the TDK trilogy I watch again and again. The Batman-Joker interrogation scene. The climb out of the pit. These are the moments that make a great film.

I was watching TV with a friend of mine today and a MOS ad came on (first time I've seen one in Australia), and my friend was like 'June 27th!' excitedly for me, cause I've been hyping this film up to him for a year now and it just made me sad. That 60% has really ****ed me up today. I've just been a mess. It's my problem that it weighs on me so, and I'll own it. But I know when this friend sees that RT score (which validates films for him) he is gonna have a field day on me.

Completely disagree. Comics writers are constantly re-imagining these characters and updating them for todays world. The most important thing is bringing the essential elements of the character over. Trust me, no-one knows what works and what doesn't with the characters than the top talents in the comicbook business. Do you think Waid and Morrison would have allowed for [BLACKOUT]Clark to stand idly by while he's adopted father is killed.[/BLACKOUT]
is'nt the point of the scene to show that Johnathan does'nt want clark exposed much like that "maybe" line from the trailer he would rather die than let clark be exposed in fear what the people would do to him like that line "My father believed if the world found out who I really was, they'd reject me out of fear"

it's not just a scene for clark to just stand and what pa kent die lol

Obviously I can't really say until I've seen it, but Superman fans on here are already saying that it's one of the worst parts of the film, and is done very poorly and completely out of character.

It must be a Goyer thing where:

People don't move during critical situations, despite the fact that by all accounts in a realistic sense, they should move. Case in point, a if I had a nickel for every time someone moved towards Batman with a gun instead of actually shooting the thing at him from a farther and reasonable distance, I'd have close to an dollar by now.lol

Which is kind of sad considering that it's supposed to be an major turn in development for the character. It's like when you expect Peter Parker to be all bad and twisted from being infected by the Black Suit, you instead get him reliving the Saturday Night Fever in New York City.haha

From the way the scene is described I don't see how it's surprising that he doesn't stop it from happening. He's been conditioned his whole life to hide his abilities. So when the time came that he needed to use them and could have prevented something bad from happening, he froze. So then of course he blames himself. Sounds to me like it's handled well in that sense. I guess I will just have to see for myself! Less than 10 hours! I still think this will be a top 5 CBM for me based on what fellow hypesters have said!!! I'm so pumped!!!!

Die Hard WAV, 300, Jack Reacher,Watchmen, Oblivion, Taken, are just some of the awesome movies that have an RT rating below the 70s. You can put MOS there.

So has anyone heard from Kevin Smith (The actor) what has he said about the film yet?

Still worried about the RT score a bit, although like people have said Transformers had a 20s score and still got sequels. I am more going to be interested in next weekend and the Box Office results. If the film has a drop of 60% or 70% I will be worried.

not too worried look at blood diamonds that film is only rated 1% higher than mos at 62% and that movie is great

It was the box office that secured Transformers sequels. Some studios don't care about quality.

Also his next smodcast will be devoted to the film. Not sure when they go up though.

because its not about the score its about money. If it makes millions and entertains the people who actually pay for a ticket ( critics dont) i`m fine :)

I can't believe today is the day man of steel goes rotten...I saw it and i honestly can't figure out why, it was a fantastic origin.

its because the critics hate it for reasons they wouldnt in other movies ! they blame everything they find to justify a rotten review. from "to much action to not funny".... so desperate to hate the movie. As long as the public loves it everything will be fine :)

There's still far over double the reviews to come in. If there's a huge opening weekend and alot of love and praise, perhaps the later reviews will be more receptive to this, and embracing of this 'new take' on Superman. That the action is very enjoyable. Plus alot of people even it's detractors are noticing that the critical consensus is too harsh, so maybe people will try and help it. Ugh. Stupid. I'm just wishing. Let's just hope it doesn't actually go into the rotten in the 50's.

yes i was thinking the same. Maybe the positive reactions after the screening today and in the next few days will encourage critics to watch this movie as what it is, a reboot not a sequel to the donner or whatever movies.

Yeah critics do seem to be basing it far more on the Donnerverse than accepting it to be a new take on the character.

Many critics dont see films until the day of release so there is still loads left

5 minutes to go.

Going in, one excited lady who saw the previous show told me that for her it was probably the best film in the last 10 years :)

Great. hope you enjoy it.:yay:

It is funny that people think it out of character that Man of Steel Clark did not try and save his dad but honestly should he have exposed himself to save Jonathan and bring potential problems down the road on his mom ? In this day and age there is always someone with a camera taking footage. Not an excuse mind you but another way to look at the scenario perhaps. We can speculate about what we would have done or could have done given the same situation but we have no idea what Clark has had to go through living with his powers and being told to keep them in check because the world would not be ready to handle someone like him. Should he have defied Jonathan and saved him? Maybe. I think that for every choice a person like Clark makes there will definitely be repercussions that he would not have foreseen and possible consequences. This is what part of the journey of him becoming Superman is all about. He has to learn to make tough choices and learn from them and given time he will.

i've never been this excited for a movie, nor have i ever lost sleep because of that excitement until last nigt.

I saw the movie last night...and all I can say is..UNBELIEVABLE!!!... I really don't understan all the "hate" from RT critics... to say that Cavill is the dullest Superman ever...haven't they watched Superman Returns?...or Smallville?....the movie isn't perfect of course...I thought the pacing was a bit too fast in the first half of the film....specially the beginning but that didn't stop me from enjoying the hell out of this movie...I do like marvel movies and I don't mean to start a Marvel-bashing thing here, but the first thing that came to my mind after the movie ended was... "Hulk smash?....that's cute" ... I mean the amount of action and destruction in the third act is ridiculous (and I mean that in a good way). Absolutely loved the movie...gonna see it tonight in 3D and several times again in 2D...absolutely worth it!
