I agree on the SENTIMENT he voiced. I thought that was obvious given the bolded portions of his comment and that I'd noted that I hadn't seen the film yet.
Can someone tell me if the action is easy to follow? One thing with the Transformers movies were that the action was so fast I couldnt tell what robot was what and get a grip on what was happening.
A lot of shaky cam stuff. Way more than I remember seeing in any other action movie ever. Maybe Act of Valor. Also a lot of quick cut scenes to close ups that are edited... oddly.
I saw it in 3D first and couldn't tell what the hell was going on. Had to see it again in 2D before I was able to follow everything. the oversaturation doesn't add much depth to it either.
the complaint of too much action sounds kinda silly, considering the main character and all.
Nie to see the boards jave clamed down a bit since i was last in.
about the critics- you can't please all of them, and heck its even harder to please a majority. At the end of the day it shouldn't be compared to what they wanted, what they expected. Its all to do with you. I hope that doesn't get lost when people start seeing this movie. Clean your head, and think of the Superman you have always wanted. Hopefully MoS will come close to that. Everyone has different tastes, and everyone sees every character different too. Just remember the only opinion that matters should be yours.

Doh I am seeing in in IMAX 3-D, looks like confusion will be bound for me lol.
I think that if they include Vera Webster in this movie then the critics would have really enjoyed it, I mean lets face it her character is essential to canon in ways people cannot imagine. HA HA JUST KIDDING t: just trying to bring some laughter here lol.
its a good sentiment & i would like to agree .. but the reality is that the only opinion that will ultimately matter is that of the GA .. this weekend will be an indicator
Because no one else can possibly have anything of worth to say. You can't learn anything from exchanging ideas with others. They can't possibly make cogent, intelligent points that happen to disagree with your own. You are special, you are a snowflake...

How is it silly? Yes, Superman's power necessitate action on a grand, superhuman scale, but good storytelling is still good storytelling and good storytelling requires balance and a reason to care about the spectacle put on the screen. Superman's abilities don't make a complaint of too much action anymore invalid in a Superman movie than any other film.

Agreed. I haven't seen the film- but I've heard that the entire third act is all out action(?)
It should be quality over quantity, when you're watching tons of action for an hour straight, it DOES become meaningless and less special (TRANSFORMERS), especially if it doesn't feel particularly motivated by the story.
If I want to watch two action figures beat each other up, I can play a video game.
I agree. I don't mind action but it should be justified in a way, not just having action for the sake of having action in a movie.
And I thought Superman is supposed to protect the safety of earth humans?
But does it ever occur to Superman...when he is bodyslaming and crashing aliens into buildings at such superhuman speed.... that he already causes damages to propertys and buildings and may accidentally hurt a human being?
Reguarding the RT score, I remember that POTC Dead Man's Chest , the greatest "enemy" of SR recieved a very low score and it made $1,066,179,725 ww.
So I would not worry too much. If the movie is good, it will make its money.

I really hope WB can see potential, it sounds like this has the chance to be spectacular but it doesn't quite hit it. However, it also sounds like a film in which its sequels could improve it.
For example -
To little Clark/Lois - develop it in the sequel as the world is set up.
To little charm from Clark. Well if the film does indeed end with
Clark in the Daily Planet
it could set up for more in the sequels
To little happiness/hope, too serious. It's an origin story. This Superman story could be about hope. Gradually getting lighter as they go along.
I hope WB do indeed give it one more try. Sequels have been given for less. Plus what is the other option? Wait 10 years to reboot again?

You know I wonder, I just wonder what the results of SR would have been if POTC would not have been around the same time as SR. SR probably would have gotten a good 120 million or 150 million more.
There will def be more input from a broader consensus by that point that's for sure. Been kinda fun hearing a select few tell us what right and wrong about the film though, gotta admit.

If WB pulls the plug I expect no Superman movie for at least maybe 15 years, they probably would let the Christopher Reeve Era fade more and then try again. Especially if that is what is hurting MOS. WB could even sell the rights however I doubt it because they probably make more on the comics, toys, games, clothes than any movie would.
Poppin' into this thread, can someone give me two rough estimates with no specific plot details about how many people Superman is directly responsible for dying and another number for people Superman personally kills? I've avoided most spoilers and reviews so far for the film but I'd like to know this going into it. Thanks. Tag it if you can, I guess.
Sorry, I think you are mistaken. I love all kinds of comic superhero movies.
I have no bias against any.
In fact, I think, hands down...MOS has the best action sequences ever in a superhero movie...better than "The Avengers"
Synder really know how to create great action sequences.
I just wish he had focus on other aspects as well, besides the action.
And yes, someone mentions this. The colouring of the movie is in dull colours. I don't know if it's supposed to have any meaning to it. Since Snyder's past works are supposed to be in great visuals and colours.
Regardles, I still hope this does well at the box office and gets a better sequel...and hopefully leads to a Justice League film.
I don't hate this movie. It was okay to me although I wish it could have been better.
