The whole first half of the movie gave me chills. Finally a modern Superman, not a rehash of the Donner films. Then once the suit is donned you are blasted with action until the end. I think by that point the important characters were fleshed out enough. Hell, even the military guys were great.
I don't get the lack of humor criticism, here were many scenes with subtle humor. This isn't Lethal We...I mean Iron Man 3 for Zod's sake.

Really? I thought the handheld style was great and separates it from other CBMs. Oh well, glad you liked it.

At the scene when he is trying to destroy that machine, and he is trying to fly up, is Chris Reeve for three or five seconds.

hey.....at least Catwoman's Catwoman interacted with cats......and looked/acted cat like.........and had a whip........

when he was flying up into that machine he looked like a comic book character... superman has never been so real on screen ...i can't wait to see it again ...and thyis is the christopher reeve bit i'm talkin about ...it better be in the sequal ...honestly there was so much in the full cut of this movie they should have released 2 movies with the 2nd at christmas ...cha-ching!

Just got back from seeing it.

The visuals were amazing. Overall, I it was a great movie. I can see where people had issues with character development and pacing though. Like others have said there is probably too much crammed in to fit. There was really no break in the film, it was thing to the next. Hopefully, there will be director's cut to flesh it out more.

Sadly, the theatrical cut IS the director's cut according to Snyder.

as slow as the dark knight rises was at times this movie was the complete opposite
