Someone is going to have to explain the problem with Pa Kent. Because that stuff got me.

His death literally made my brother cry. Made me tear up. And it is perfect. Absolutely perfect. Clark can't save him.

Me too. I just wasn't a fan of his story arc, but his
actual demise got me teared up and made my girlfriend cry. And she doesn't cry at movies that much.

I am quite confident that the WOM is going to be so good, that there will be some question in regards to the critics on this one. I mean even non Superman fanatics are going to love this film and scratch their heads when they see the negative reviews. It is easily better than SR which got a 76%.

"I wish he could have seen it finally happen."

"He did."

*hands on hip scene*

And waterworks.

Same for me. Someone said it wasn't emotional or something to that extent. I thought it was done very well.

It reminded me of when I was a kid wishing I could save the world running around with my superman pajamas and a towel on my back jumping from couch to couch. That's what I loved about it so much.

fwiw, my midnite showing is packed more than the walmart screening I went to earlier.

Depression? Doubt? Gone.

Like I said, make up your own mind, disregard the critics, and enjoy yourself. This film could have a lower score but that won't change anything. The casuals and majority of fans are liking/loving this movie. I'd be shocked if this opened with less than 95 million this weekend. My Facebook page is blowing up with gushing reviews.

This is a rather juvenile question, but one that's nonetheless been on my mind since the film's release.

For those who've seen it. . .

How many cuss words are there in it? :woot: I ask because there were virtually no swear words throughout Nolan's Batman trilogy. There was an occasional "god damn" every once in a while, but no "s***s," "asses," and no sign of the binarily-allowed "f***s" in any of the films. My inclination is that this was a Nolan-y decision overall for Batman.

Just humor me :funny:

That was such a gut-wrenching scene.

I loved it. I love that his message was the same as Jor-El's. Jor-El just brought it home.

Any theories on...

what it could now mean that Kal-El has the entire Kryptonian civilization's genetic coding in his body?

2 or 3 I can remember, 2 by the bullies, 1 by lois although it was the context it was used, not so much the word itself

Other Kryptonian's out there?

I know it was the first viewing for me and it was a lot to take in. I'm seeing it again in a few minutes so I'm hoping I can be more appreciative to it. But, essentially, that was my main problem with the film. :cwink:

Probably 4-5 cuss words. And Clark drinks a beer.

The horror.

Hmmm...
As if he's some sort of genetic... compendium, the singular container of what remains of a now-extinct extraterrestrial civilization.

Hey, remember what shape the Codex was in?

Also, remember how many energy threads were coming off of it inside its chamber?

I believe it was 3.

:)

If the entire fight scenes are of the nature of superman punching that one guy cgi through the air to no effect due to everyone being invincible...I can honestly start to understand why some people aren't being won over...

I figured with nolan and goyer involved they would do that thing they do where they butter their action up with great context and stakes(see TDK chase).

Can't wait to see for myself.

Say what? When and how did that come up? Please explain.

Well, they're clearly not all invincible. And that one scene is really not representative of the fighting at all. That's probably the least spectacular point of the fighting.

By the way, I loved this movie. Loved it. Honestly don't understand one complaint.

lol you had a good poker face.

Still think you are low balling that figure. I can't see this opening lower than IM with a 3D boost and Nolans name. Reviews shouldn't affect opening weekends of this scale that much. Not opening days anyways.

My friend just reminded me that he didn't even know who Tony Stark was prior to 2008....that was the level of brand recog for him at that point. I see different here.

During the tornado scene, I couldn't believe that Clark wasn't going to save him. Just as I was really beginning to get frustrated, Jonathan raised his hand to tell Clark no...

I was a mess
It was executed perfectly imo
